I think gnome used to be fantastic but sadly lost their edge over time. I love plasma but it is still a bit too unstable for my liking.
Personally use Hyprland nowadays and I think I’ll never go back to using a DE anyways

Arch (well right now more precisely cachyos)
I’ve been using Linux on my homeserver (debian) and on previous laptops (arch) for almost a decade, but I only swapped my main desktop over this spring when nVidia sorted out waylaid explicit sync
I say this in a lot of threads lately but, here I go again:
I’m so glad I swapped to linux
Trust me, the difference is massive, especially when comparing to a Wii using component. Like I mentioned the internal scaler in the Wii u is horrid, it makes games blurry, zooms in and lowers brightness, a Wii over component is miles better.
With an early model Wii you obviously also have full GameCube back compat, with games and almost all peripherals, yes you can run GameCube through Nintendont in vwii on wii u but then we’re getting into grey areas
I’d not recommend a wii u for Wii games actually, it has worse visual quality than an actual wii, the scaler in the wii u is horrible and destroys picture clarity
They actually added the subway system in an update to the game.
I’d say cp77 still isn’t the game they hyped up over the years, but it is now a fantastic experience in my opinion, especially modded
Gameplay wise palworld has nothing to do with Pokémon, it was simply a marketing tool for em.
As for the ark comparison I can’t comment, the one time I played it was on the early access launch day during which I refunded it within 45 minutes because it performed horribly, that was almost 10 years ago though so not sure how the current game compares
I got portuex, never used Slackware but seems serviceable, I’m just scared of nVidia driver setup haha
Its a very lazy mediocre game that only got recognition because it was ”Pokémon with guns”
I don’t like what Nintendo is doing, but I also thing palworld is a crap game
I know you can basically turn arch into catchy, but I see no reason to when there is a pre made distro.
As for Nix, I think it looks very interesting but I very much love arch for my desktop and am not really looking for a replacement at the moment, but it is number one on my list for the future if things change
Cachyos.
Used to use pure arch but I like the cachy optimisations and their repos
Well if you don’t want plain arch I’d go with cachyos or just endeavouros
Actually feel kinda proud of myself for that one haha
Yeah, and that’s a good thing specially for the reason I just mentioned
Actually not a bummer in my opinion, let people sort into different platforms based on their interests like we used to do with forums.
A fragmented internet is a better internet
Arch (cachyos) on my desktop, Debian on my server.
Doesn’t really get any better than those two in my opinion
I am very glad I moved to Linux full time
Yes and no, they are not natively connected but there are bridges between that can be used
If manjaro is the most stable distro you’ve used you can’t have used a lot
Current GPU prices have consumer spending habits in mind. If people are willing to pay at a certain price, they will sell at that price
