  • There were still people that lived in the streets in the USSR. Also, the housing the USSR provided wasn’t really that… great… I watch a Russian YouTuber (NFKRZ) who has talked about Soviet architecture in not just Russia, but other former USSR countries and shows that yes it’s good they were built, they weren’t very well built.

The USSR had many problems, and bureaucracy was a big problem. I never understood why tankies love the USSR so much when the USSR didn’t truly get rid of class. Those in the government lived like kings compared to the common man, who yes lived better than they had before but still not that well due to the bloated and mismanagement of the government.

Idk, the fact that they even had a centralized government like that seems like… the opposite of communism to me.

    Avoid, no.

Cut down, yes. We overeat carbohydrates, especially empty carbohydrates. It’s a cheap source of energy sure, but if we are inputting more than we are outputting, the excess is stored as fat, which can lead to inflammation and other health issues.

I did keto for a couple years and yes, cutting out most carbs that weren’t nutrient dense did wonders. Only reason I’ve been moving off of it is because it’s honestly difficult to eat that way in a world of excess carbohydrates. Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING, has added sugars or fillers added in that increase the carb count for cheap. I did it for like 5 years, but it cost a lot of money and time. Money because it’s all about eating whole, nutritious, and organic. Time because It takes time to cook and do meal prep, and sometimes I don’t have that time or energy mentally.

  • In my defense, I use it not because I don’t know how to get where I need to go, but because it shows real time traffic info that could help me find another route to avoid said traffic rather than being stuck in that traffic. Driving through local roads to get to work sucks because sometimes it’s fine but other times there are accidents or roadwork that causes backups.

Probably don’t see as much conservative minded stuff because the majority of users here are not conservative. Just a thought.

Acts like a clown? No, moreso acts like the kid at school that acted tough, lied about their accomplishments, and thought they could get away with anything because his mommy and daddy were rich. That’s why he gets dunked on a lot, because we all knew someone like that in elementary school. Trump just never grew out of it.

Things have gotten more polarized, yea, but honestly looking back at older stuff it was inevitable. For years fox news and conservative media pushed this idea that if you weren’t republican, you were a commy aka not patriotic or American. I’d know, I grew up with a hyper conservative, O’Reilly loving, faux “news” gorging step father who believed that CNN stood for communist news network and that even the most conservative of Dems were secret USSR lovers. Not all conservatives are that bad, probably not even most, but the places they got their news from definitely pushed that narrative, polarizing them to a specific bias heavily. Conservative media for years has slowly been moving further rightward with it’s rhetoric both on social and economic issues, which is sad because honestly I can see that deep down there is a point to all of it even if I don’t fully agree, but that point has been lost.

Because politics is a part of every aspect of our lives…?

Politics dictates where roads are built, zoning laws for buildings, food safety laws, labor laws, how much funding goes towards education, etc.

    Sucks, but it’s true.

Also not a liberal and find trump’s mugshot fucking hilarious. Looks like a sith lord, yet people think he’s a good guy.

  • So far yea. Battery life has been great, phone is very snappy, display is beautiful, sounds great. The only things I don’t like are that visual voicemail doesn’t seem to work (issue with T-Mobile moreso than the phone), wish the IP rating was at least 67 (it’s 54 I believe), and I wish either the fingerprint area was alittle higher on the display or just replaced with a rear fingerprint scanner. Other than that tho it’s been great.

On the software side, I’m surprised to see nothing is so proactive. When I first got the phone I posted on their discord about how we should have the ability to hide apps in the app drawer and group them into folders, and they’ve already announced hiding apps is coming in a later update. No update on folders tho. It’s very clean, and there are some nice features like native app locking and cloning apps.

I bought the phone 2 to test drive it for 30 days, but was leaning on returning it and waiting for the pixel 8. I’ve been slowly leaning towards keeping this tho. The overall experience is just so stable and smooth.
