Mewgenics is actually going to be released? I thought it was vaporware!
…I’m actually glad. I was quite interested on the game when announced back then. The video makes me feel that it’s completely different from what I expected, but still fun. (I like this sort of X-COM-like game.)
It actually was vaporware. Announced in 2012 and originally scheduled for release in 2014, it was officially cancelled in 2016, only to be re-announced in 2018, with a release probably “several years away”.
And notably, it looks completely different from the original concept (which would have just been a management game) so its safe to say the original got scrapped, they just liked the theme enough to make it into something else.
My understanding of the original concept was you were essentially running a pokemon daycare, but for cats.
Daym, I never even heard of this at all. Sounds exactly like my kind of game!
