Now, how the hell do I set up a community? Do I have to go through admins?

        You sure can!

You can also restore deleted posts and comments for a short while if it was accidental. When you post stuff, lemmy will check if its been posted before. If you hover over the votecount on a post, you can see how many up and downvotes there are separately.

I found the best way to find interesting stuff was to:

    1. Click on the Communities link at the top, scroll through and sub to anything that sounds interesting
    2. Change your view to “Subscribed” and “New”, then you’ll see interesting stuff from the communities you’ve subbed to. You can switch it up from “new” to “Most comments” or what ever sorting sounds helpful.
    3. To drink from the firehose, switch from Subscribed to “All” and filter by Active, or most comments, and TRY to open interesting stuff as it scrolls by. I’ve read that’s a bug and will be fixed (the scrolling super fast).

These things have helped me settle into using Lemmy.

I learned today that once you jump from your home configuration to any other different sorting option, the web address will change to something like blahblahbunchofstuff…page/1. Change the 1 to a 0 (zero) and reload the page, and it stops the mad scrolling.
