It’s a large expansion.
In the Bay Area, the area of operation is extended all the way to Sacramento, and well into Sonoma County.
In SoCal, it’s the whole coastal corridor between LA and San Diego.
I saw one on the street a couple of days ago, I was definitely keeping an eye on it to see if I needed to dodge it.
I see at least 5 of them when I step out for a cup of coffee, I think you’ll be alright
I live in San Francisco, where Waymos are ubiquitous, and I have to say that they’re actually good drivers.
I’ve seen them make difficult turns, merge lanes in heavy traffic, and wait patiently while some car ahead of them puts on their emergency lights, and the driver runs inside to get their takeout, but the Waymo can’t go around them due to traffic in the left lane.
