Turns out leftists and liberals are a) funny b) have a sense of humor and c) don’t normally worship politicians.

Depends on what kind of joke they’re making. Key & Peele had a lot of great comedy about Obama. SNL’s Jim Carey Biden impression was great. But conservatives are almost never funny, generally their “comedy” is about bullying someone for a perceived social transgression or physical/mental flaw.

Yeah I mean that’s not much of a joke but it’s not offensive. It’s just expressing a viewpoint. But a Republican would be like “hurr durr Biden is demented” or some such crap

Democrats love making fun of the president. Doesn’t matter the party.

Many Democrats think Trump is so bad that he’s worthy of ridicule. But also realize that Biden is kinda shit too, but at least he’s not Trump.

Have you not met the Cult of Dark Brandon?

Thankfully not all Dems belong to it, but it’s a real cult of personality and unfortunately many of them are terminally online.

eta: look - they’ve arrived! hurry up and pretend the political spectrum doesn’t go further left than fascist! lol

Tbh I’m just mad that I can’t go one day without hearing his name. It has been 2436 days since I last went one without him being the complete focus of everyone’s life, I miss it.

The various @politics communities are currently chock full of a weird deflection of all jokes and criticisms of Biden and a focus on jokes and criticisms about Trump. It’s pretty hard to see how the blue team part to this pans out at all.

How does that in any way explain the bizarre, near-vitriol reactions of blue team participants to criticisms and jokes about Biden?

A relative excess of funny would just explain more jokes, and poorly.

I work with disabled adults so the “Biden has mental decline” jokes aren’t amusing to me, specifically, and I actually couldn’t give a shit about the families of politicians so the Hunter Biden stuff isn’t amusing to me, and the “gender lol” stuff is so extremely played out to me…

But I’m open to actual jokes about Democrats. And memes. Do you have any that aren’t those? (This is a “you” to the conversation at large.) I’d love to have something to share.

Eta: It’s been 2 days so I checked back and the only answers asking for jokes about Democrats have been ignored. I’m disappointed as hell and now I think that the whole “Republicans don’t have jokes” narrative is actually true.

          Thanks, Obama.

I’m able to make fun pretty much anyone, Biden included. Often times it’s warranted against him; most of the time Trump deserves to be dunked on. But sure, keep living in your little information bubble where everyone thinks like you.

Not the original replier, but I have valid criticisms of Biden, like that he chose the most roundabout way to try and get student loan forgiveness instead of the direct action of simply using his power to completely drop them.

He also didnt seem to fight for the striking rail workers, though I’ve heard he apparently has gotten them many concessions since breaking the strike (don’t quote me on that, just what I heard)

I think he’s definitely in mental decline and shouldn’t be president, definitely not a second term.

He let the covid-era GOOD legislation (especially around child poverty) expire.

There’s more stuff just can’t think of it right now…

Part of the problem I think is it’s harder to make jokes about stuff like this because it ends up being very specific, whereas Trump is just so obviously moronic in the way he speaks (very smart people, repeating himself, etc…) and the things he says/does so frequently that you can’t help but laugh.

Not even getting into how his base treats him as if he’s literally the second coming of Christ and a god emperor, when he’s just so obviously a grifter only in it for himself (as most very wealthy people are…)

Not good. Cultish behavior is for extremists. When you lose the ability to laugh at yourself, it’s a sign that you’ve lot the ability to criticize and evaluate yourself honestly.
