UAE reports large fire at oil port after drone attack from Iran

We’re also hearing from local officials in Fujairah, who say a large fire has broken out at the key UAE oil port after it was hit by a drone attack from Iran.

Fujairah is the Emirates’ biggest port and oil storage facility. Before the ceasefire, it was also targeted in drone attacks.

In a statement shared on social media, the Fujairah Government Media Office says civil defence teams are working to contain the fire.

It’s been somewhat scientifically proven that being “nice” but retaliating is the most effective strategy when dealing with another party that over multiple encounters may choose to cooperate with you or betray you - this scenario is known as “The prisoner’s dilemma”.

Good Veritasium video on the subject (YT)

True. I didn’t mean it wasn’t a smart or strategic move.

Just that there are no good guys in this war.

Iran is the aggressor towards their own people. And Trump claims to have come to their aid , whether you believe that or not is another thing.

So no, definitely not just the aggressor is bad guy and this is an exceptionally bad take.

We are talking about the war of agression on Iran . The only bad guys in the context is the usa/israel and all their backers.

You don’t have to tell me that Iran is an theocracy, I know it and I don’t support that. Comitting a genocide on Iran won’t save Iranians.

Nobody unbiased would believe Trump wanted to sace the protesters. It is a very bad take to believe that.

Yes, but a case can be made that the countries came to the aid of the Irani people who were being killed by the thousands. That doesn’t mean it’s true. But you really need to stop defending Iran. They’re not the good guys you want to make them out to be.

That being said I think it is still a war of aggression but your views are way too simplistic. Just because Iran was attacked doesn’t make them the good guy in general or in this war.

Not every war is genocide. Don’t use it so lightly because it diminishes what happened in WW2 or in Gaza and an insult to those who died because of actual genocide. Killing protesters by the thousands is closer to genocide than the war Israel and US are waging on Iran.

You really have some bad takes in this and it reflects poorly on you.

There isn’t any case to be made. The USA and Israel want to destroy Iran as a country, not just the regime. I am defending a country being attacked by two of the most terrible countries. First is Israel, which is committing a genocide in Gaza and wants to steal land from other countries.

They compare Iranians to Amalek, which is a call for genocide and the murder of babies. Second is the USA, which is responsible for millions of deaths by creating failed states, starting coups, and dropping the most bombs. Is another Libya or Iraq what you want? I am not using the word genocide lightly the agressors languages and actions proof it : destruction of schools, hospitals and cultural centers is all genocidal actions.

Like I said before the regime is a bloody regime oppresing it’s people if it doesn’t follow the regime laws or oppose the irgc so please stop acting like I like the regime.

Both side are bad in a war is the most simplistic thing you can ever said. With your logic both the allies and axis in world war 2 are the same because many allies countries was innocent people in tbe colonized countries.

Only the aggressors are the bad guys in the context of a war of agression.

That doesn’t automatically mean that the regime that’s defending Iran are the good guys…

Of course nobody wants a next Iraq, but that is not the discussion here. It’s pointless to drag other wars into this discussion, because that is not what it is about. We have already clearly established that US and Israel are the aggressors and are bad guys, that they’re doing terrible things and have done terrible things in the past.

The issue is that you claim that the third party in this war is somehow a good guy, which is not only utter nonsense, but also an insult to the thousands protesters who died over the last several years trying to fight the oppression by this so-called “good guy” of yours.

That doesn’t automatically mean that the regime that’s defending Iran are the good guys

                    I never said that

Of course nobody wants a next Iraq, but that is not the discussion here

The logic of both side are equally bad in a war of aggression remove the aggressed right to defend it’s country . The usa and israel definitelty want it to be the next Iraq.

also an insult to the thousands protesters who died over the last several years trying to fight the oppression by this so-called “good guy” of yours.

The biggest insult is to start a war pretending to save iranians from the terrible regime when it is to destroy the country and the old civilization . One of the biggest insult is seeing all the failed foreign intervention and still use the same rhetoric. Saddam killed 10 thousands of kurds and most people know that the war was wrong and was never about liberating Iraqis. Like I already say the regime is bad but in a context of war of agression only the agressor is the bad guys.
