It’s definitely getting more interesting than the earlier parts, but I found myself kind of annoyed when Otaku Hero was having his freak out rather than getting on the radio and warning them not to take the drug.

I don’t recall if he had direct communication with the girls but I believe the tech dude at least had the ability to communicate with both Otaku Hero and them, so they could have been warned.

This show always keeps me wondering if it has some deeper message or if it’s just nonsense. I’m starting to believe that it’s nonsense, but the nonsense is the message. Like it’s a hommage to anime that may have bad writing full of holes and tropes, and is loved despite that. The badness is part of the experience so to speak.

So such plot inconsistencies (like also Blue’s and Pink’s vials with the drug being intact again despite them already opening it in the previous episode) may just be on purpose.

Yeah I’ve definitely had the same question since pretty early on. Tbh while what you’re saying is plausible, I also feel like it’s possible that the team working on it bit off more than they can chew.

It comes off as a show that just wants to harness that Trigger and Gainax energy in both writing and animation/art style but fails at both.

It definitely could have been great but fell short in my opinion. They’ll likely have a massive twist at the end, leaving us mildly satisfied but nothing more. The “twist” from this episode was quite underwhelming.
