    What would be the point of self hosting then?

    Generally speaking installing stuff on a raspberry pi with docker and accessing it over a vpn is pretty safe and already straightforward.

      To add to this, zero tier or tailscale are GREAT VPN implementations. Don’t require much config. But works the same way as a normal VPN
