Set my phone face-down on my leg for a moment while watching porn… the picture I was looking at was sent to 3 of my Snapchat contacts. I was able to delete 2 of the 3 before they were opened, but the guy who saw it was my ROOMMATE at the time and was IN THE NEXT ROOM.

    Hard to live down.

I used to work for a software company, whose clients were all the largest US defense contractors. Once, in a conference room meeting with about 20 important people from a client in the room, I was projecting, talking them through some slide deck. We got to the end, decided to take a break just before noon. I forgot I was still sharing my screen. I answered an instant message from a friend, asking if I could go out to lunch. I wrote, “no, can’t. Stuck in this long boring meeting for a few more hours” Some kind person tapped me on my shoulder and told me to stop projecting my screen pretty quick, but not until everyone in the room had read the message. I was reminded of that mistake for a long time after that day.

The day after the 2016 election, I sent an email to the guy who contracts most of my services. He’s also one of my best friends. It was in response to a job we were working on, so I cc’d his assistant.

Basically said I was disappointed about the outcome of the election, then got into the job specifics.

From his response, I knew I fucked up. He just said he was glad the election was over.

I never liked his assistant anyways, but I looked up her voter registration and she’s Republican. And she’s totally the Trump type, though I hadn’t thought about it before.

She’s been pretty much on the warpath for me ever since. I provide a great service at a good price, so she keeps me around. Plus some clients know me and would possibly revolt if I were taken off their jobs. I think she’s been disparaging me to them for any misstep that I make.

I suspect she asks me for quotes and gives projects out to anyone who bids lower.

This was never the case with my friend; if I made a bid too low or too high he’d ask me to requote it. Yes,** if he thought my bid was too low, he’d tell me to charge more.**

Not so with this monster. She’s nickle and diming me for everything.

And now my friend’s health has taken a turn for the worse, and she’s in charge.

God I wish I never sent that stupid email.

When I was 13, I accidentally forwarded an email with a list of pretty obscene jokes to my prim and proper grandmother, who is blind. Apparently, her caretaker read them to her and she was shocked, but still got a laugh out of it. My mom was not as jovial about it.

My sister and me have been no contact for the pasr 2 years when I suddenly got a text from here telling me she’s pregnant. I didn’t want to reply right away as I wanted to congratulate her while still making it clear it wouldn’t change anything about the current situation, and I needed some time to think about a way to express it that wouldn’t make me an asshole. That’s when I missclicked and hit the “ok” suggestion from my phone…

I sent a pretty inconspicuous “hi” to someone I hold dear. Turns out they never recovered from it as it never was answered only seen.

I occasionally used to kill time reading pro revenge or similar stories. I use dark mode but sometimes do a CTRL-A to temporarily change the text colours. One day at work I was reading a story and apparently copied the text of a story to the clipboard. The story was the pasted into a message to several police service customers as well as my boss.

Not my proudest moment by a long shot

Queue several embarrassing phone calls to apologize to each recipient…

A meme. The title was “beware the Easter bunnies evil twin” it was definitely not appreciated nor cared that it wasn’t intentional.
