  • Technically it’s western hegemony. US alone isn’t capable of a global economy hegemony, despite being the largest economy in the western hemisphere. Rather it’s always that EU aligns their policy with the US government.

Besides that, I don’t think it will happen. Only Brazil is making this proposal, the other BRICS nations aren’t interested. They aren’t looking to quickly break western hegemony either.

It’s clear to everyone that western hegemony is coming to an end, and these larger BRICS nations seem content to let it happen gradually rather than make a direct effort to end it quickly.

  • But the main BRICS countries have been creating new payment methods for a while now, with a few successes.

Their alternatives to SWIFT is very successful, it’s how both Russia and China have made themselves immune to the secondary effects of western sanctions against Russia. However besides the international transactional agreement, only Brazil have proposed an alternative to US currency, but the other nations have no interest in this.

IMHO, it’s probably because Brazil is most vulnerable to the US dollar. The economies of China, India, Russia and SA are not as dependent on the US dollar, since they also trade significantly with non-western nations.

  • It’s not “China” that get’s away with anything, but the Western media that’s branding them as “Communist” as a form of derogatory propaganda to mark them a copy cat of the USSR.

Right from beginning China has always called themselves “PRC”. People’s Republic of China. They are a dictatorial republic akin of Cesar’s Roman Empire, with a government structure based off communist ideology. But their economic policy have always shifted with the times, it was similar to the USSR when they were the fastest growing economy, and now similar to the US.

  • Being accused isn’t the same as being found guilty. Especially in the case of real estate, there is always a possibility that what he did to skirt to law and obtain that wealth may not actually be illegal.

That being said I don’t know enough on the laws or what he did, but it’s probably likely why China hasn’t killed him yet. They likely are doing a more drawn out investigation to find out if it’s their own poorly written policies that enable men like this to obtain that wealth and what to do to correct it in the eyes of common Chinese citizens.

  • Accusing the British of being Brutes is like accusing Germans of being Nazi’s. It is rooted in the historic actions of these nations, rather than anything in particular they’ve done today. Sure British tourist have their stereotypes, but honestly they aren’t worse than Chinese tourist, or Muslim migrants. As long as British tourist are still paying customers, many nations will still be happy to host them. Don’t take these comments so seriously, it’s all in good humor.

Brexit on the other hand is a tragedy so awful that you can wonder how a nation once known for it’s ability to govern an empire spanning the entire globe, and innovators of capitalism, made such a stupid decision. Like pointing a gun to your head and pulling the trigger thinking it will cure your headache. It’s so ridiculous I still can’t come up with a proper insult to throw at the Brits concerning their decision to commit economic suicide.

  • We don’t have a partner for peace? Well then get to work creating partners for peace.

The US has been trying for years with the Saudi’s, Egyptians, etc… to support and encourage a peace treaty between the Palestinians and Israeli. And when the Saudi’s shifted, the Palestinians immediately went to Iran for support. Many other middle eastern countries nearby either hates the US, like Syria, or unable due to a crisis themselves, like Lebanon. So this policy isn’t possible.

First, I challenge the assumption that I have to provide a credible peace plan in order to demand an end to violence.

The reason for this war is because neither Hamas or Israeli wants to back down, and unfortunately thousands of Palestinians are caught in the cross-fire. At this point in the conflict, it doesn’t seem either Hamas or Israeli cares what happens to the civilians of Gaza, they just want to win this war. So unless you offer them a viable solution to peacefully end this conflict, they will not accept a cease fire.

  • Millions of people are at risk of dying of deliberate starvation. Millions are being pushed off their land. The region is being destabilized, Jews and Muslims worldwide are facing increasing antisemitism due to a complex set of reasons, Israelis are facing a rapid erosion in civil liberties… and we need to say NO. We need to interrupt all of these.

Indeed. I agree globally the world need to find a way to end this impending genocide of the Palestinian people.

We need to demand peace, we need to force from power leaders who pursue agendas designed to escalate conflicts because its in their interests, we need to halt the logistics operations that allow for people to be caged and starved and blown up and tortured…

The problem is for us to demand peace, we need to have a solution that most people would agree with, including the majority of Israel and Palestinians. What would that solution be at this point in the conflict?

  • They make sense, as they were good enough to stop imperial empires from ravaging the world. But their limits are a governing forces are seen today.

I do think the age of nation-states are ending soon, and the rise of a new type of state may happen soon. Maybe something like a culture-state?
