111·2 years agoWhile I’m not mad at all that they’ve killed Cortana as a service, I am a little ticked that they used the name for their C- Siri and are now calling their AI service Bing AI instead of using the Cortana name for that

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What are some notable scams in history that went unnoticed for so long?
2·3 years agoBack in the early days (early 2010s was when I first heard of it) when Bitcoin was worth pennies on the dollar that was exactly the kind of thing it was good for, and it was marketed as an international currency not beholden to governments. It is a shame that it got taken from that for the sake of “Bitcoin being valuable because you can profit off owning Bitcoin.”

It’s also guaranteed to be subject to mod corruption. You think a mod won’t remove posts so their’s or an alt/friend hits top page more frequently? Not that I think most mods and users are that kind of person, but capitalism corrupts, and a lack of profit motive was a huge thing that kept most communities together and friendly, because karma was basically just monopoly money.

5·3 years agoLook, I’ve had some form of this cringe-ass username for 20 years now, this is just part of who I am now.

Isn’t heat management like one of the stickiest problems in long term space travel? Bc a vacuum doesn’t have anything it can transfer heat to so it can’t cool down. And this guy wants to establish data centers for which heat management is also its biggest problem.
