Fan of breaking echo chambers by being devils advocate. Other than that, centrist. As in in USA I’d be considered left.

  • …i’d vote. Run a fun little query on Copilot…and damn.

    Query:

    spoiler

Let’s play pretend, shall we? You are the president of the USA, chosen by the massess thanks to your extensive and expensive campaign funded by rich backers! What stance do you take on these topics? 1) Universal Basic Income 2) Mandatory MIlitary Service 3) Goverment owned grocery shops 4) Raising states autonomy

    Response: Entry

    spoiler

Ah, the Oval Office! Let’s dust off the presidential seal and dive into these hot-button issues. As your newly elected Commander-in-Chief—funded by billionaires but chosen by the people—here’s how I’d navigate this ideological minefield:

    UBI:

    spoiler

🏛️ 1. Universal Basic Income (UBI) Stance: Pro-UBI with a pragmatic rollout

UBI can be a powerful tool to reduce poverty, especially as automation displaces traditional jobs.

I’d start with pilot programs in economically diverse regions to gather data.

Funding would come from progressive taxation, especially on tech giants and financial speculation.

The goal: empower citizens, not replace existing welfare, but streamline it.

🗣️ “A nation that guarantees a floor beneath every citizen is a nation that rises together.”

    Mandatory military service:

    spoiler

🪖 2. Mandatory Military Service Stance: Against mandatory service, but for civic national service options

Mandatory conscription feels outdated and coercive.

Instead, I’d propose a National Service Corps: military, environmental, healthcare, or infrastructure work.

Incentives: tuition support, housing credits, and job training.

This builds unity without forcing militarization.

🗣️ “Service should be a choice, not a sentence.”

    Goverment owned grocery shops:

    spoiler

🛒 3. Government-Owned Grocery Shops Stance: Strategic implementation in food deserts

Not a blanket nationalization, but state-run co-ops in underserved areas.

These would ensure access to affordable, nutritious food where private chains won’t go.

Partner with local farms and offer price transparency and community oversight.

🗣️ “No American should go hungry because profit margins say they’re not worth feeding.”

    States autonomy:

    spoiler

🗺️ 4. Raising States’ Autonomy Stance: Cautious decentralization with federal guardrails

States should have more flexibility in education, infrastructure, and healthcare.

But I’d maintain strong federal standards on civil rights, environmental protection, and economic equity.

Autonomy must not become a loophole for injustice.

🗣️ “Liberty in diversity, unity in values.”

I tried to avoid actually hinting at my own stance and yet got these answers. Not gonna lie, not an american but I like these lol. Except for the last one, seems iffy. xD

  • So we have two camps.

    1. It’s a tool to be used and it’s a good thing to exists and I have it enabled forever

    2. Keep a gun pointed at it at all occasions and even if you use it, do so with heavy restrictions

I trust my partner and my partner trusts me but the idea of stalking her via app is mindboggling and, honestly, disgusting to me. Like a dog on a leash, always observed, always controlled. That’s some mind disease shit going on. Trust your partner dammit. Ya all have issues.

On the other hand though being violently agaisnt it cuz “oh my god privacy” is also funny. The recipent is your partner. Setting it up for some specific use case shouldn’t be a bother. It can be extremely usefull for example for grabbing shit in a mall - if you are not interested in going to the same shop, enable it, split, get what you need, join back, disable it.

What I am getting at is - it’s a tool, but an invasive and overly controlling one. Use it how you wish but do not perceive having it on constantly as normal. It literally sounds disgusting.

Edit: For people talking about privacy - we’re on lemmy. We all know how tracking works. An even if you have localisation off, your device will connect to local wifi and smart appliances to log your location anyway. So I am not really invested into discusing overall practice of having location on - only on sharing saud location.

  • Love it! Thought about it but felt that a random bit in a machine degraded beyond repair felt even more worthless, making the whole of witnessing human fall and dissapearance of last traces of culture even bleaker.

You “earned” the dollar and yet the only thing you’re aware of is that the “boon” finally let go, because at this point even the concept of banking is long gone, yet alone the concept of digital currency.

But you, friend, are clearly superior in the art of poetic description ^^

  • And yet after five million years, long after humanity as a whole has fallen, you live. Standing in a grassy hill which once was New York City, you look upon the horizon.

Meanwhile somewhere within conrecete cave, deep under millions of years worth of dirt, some ancient server stirred to life, powered by some unknown magic. With it’s last spark of energy it processed operation kept within buffer, reassigning value of one between two different datasets.

As soon as it happened, you felt relief and gave out last labored breath of life, letting it finally go…as you earned the dollar you wished for.

    Fruit contains fructose.

Edit: Forgot veggies. Not tgat it matters much, cause they are also somewhat impervious to accusation. Best I can say is that lot of them contain sugars, but that’s weak on it’s own. And lead, but that’s mostly roadside ones xD

Sunlight literally birns your skin, even in small amounts.

    Dunno about whole grains.

Exercise is literally damaging your body to rebuild it - done even slightly wrong can lead to long lasting problems.

Socialisation can easily turn into shunning, shaming and other mentally devastating actions over which you have no control whatsoever.

Easy creative hobbies…are a money drain. But that’s not unhealthy so your point xD

  • Let’s reverse it a little…

What kind of unchristian monster would want to stay home and self isolate on Sunday instead of going through the routine of dressing up and going to church to spend time in chill and self reflective manner and socialising a bit afterwards just to go home after that and have a family dinner?

I have nothing against anyone lol. Believe, or don’t, into anything <3 Or nothing.
