20% is 20%. It won’t be dirt cheap for another year or two. If you’d prefer to wait until Christmas in hopes of saving $3, more power to you.

Not sure if this is helpful, but BG3 is on sale until tomorrow morning.
I havent been able to play yet, so I’m incredibly excited.
Who said anything about Trump besides you?
I swear, libs make up their own narrative to punch left regardless of what Leftists do.
I have never and will never give the slightest fuck about Hunter Biden.
I hate that everyone has just given Diamond Joe a pass for pulling an RBG to hand the country back to Trump. Whatever else Democrats might have done differently, the single biggest campaign mistake is that the Cryptkeeper stomped on our primaries and wouldn’t hand over power until the last minute.
The entire goal of his presidency should have been anointing of a successor. I’m not a huge Kamala fan, but he could have set her up for success instead of waiting. Whoever won real primaries would run a much better general election campaign than Kamala could have this year.
Do you think it’s okay for us to bomb people because I can say on the internet that we shouldn’t bomb people?
China doesn’t call themselves “the leader of the free world” or “a shining city on a hill”. Sure, freedom of speech is generally better in the US than China (but don’t think that nobody ever gets put in jail for criticizing the government.) The fact remains that the US kills a lot of people.
I’m not Chinese. I can’t affect Chinese policy at all. I focus on the US because my voice is supposed to matter here, allegedly.
He must have been bullied terribly.
The interesting thing about the furor over trans people existing is that 90% of any harm, real or imagined, stems from mistreatment of people. Conservatives treat trans people badly (supposedly) due to mental issues that are caused by the way conservatives treat trans people.
Not that anyone should feel obligated to shave their head, but one major thing is that his hair is literally his livelihood. He may be under contract not to change his appearance, and shaving one’s head (especially at that age) might do permanent damage.
I doubt that Dave would want John to shave his head. But they’re good friends, and our opinion from the sidelines doesn’t really matter that much.
Isn’t shaving one’s head an “empty performative stunt”? It doesn’t provide any benefit to the cancer patient.
If my calculations are correct, this car is smaller than a football field.
I dunno, friend. Maybe the title doesn’t contain the entire contents of the book.
That cat is high AF.
Nothing good, but nothing surprising.
I don’t at all understand how you got your definition of “liberal”. I think anyone who could conceivably be called a “tankie” would bristle at being called liberal.
Liberalism is a political and moral philosophy based on the rights of the individual, liberty, consent of the governed, political equality, right to private property and equality before the law.[1][2] Liberals espouse various and often mutually warring views depending on their understanding of these principles but generally support private property, market economies, individual rights (including civil rights and human rights), liberal democracy, secularism, rule of law, economic and political freedom, freedom of speech, freedom of the press, freedom of assembly, and freedom of religion.[3] Liberalism is frequently cited as the dominant ideology of modern history.
Both of our American parties are liberals. However, most Americans use the word to mean “progressive”.
I think “Leftist” starts at anti-capitalism and goes from there. I half jokingly say a progressive is someone who thinks the system is broken and must be fixed. A Leftist is someone who thinks the system is working exactly as intended and must be destroyed.
Honestly, we probably know everything we could learn from a dead hippo carcass.
Most restaurants keep reservations in a $2.75 spiral notebook.
I doubt an online reservation calendar would be $10k for a single restaurant, but still…the only profit is marginal: the people who eat there who would have without the online calendar, and I doubt it would recoup the costs in a quarter or two. Especially considering that the wealth gap and tech gap mean that the number of people who want to schedule online is inversely related to the people who can afford to eat out a lot.
I get where you’re coming from, but the reason I disagree is because you’re assuming these people are acting in good faith. Why do they need a title?
Queer folk have always used symbols to distinguish ourselves and find others. We’re ~10% of the population and it’s necessary. Straight people do not commonly do so, and 100% of the people who feel the need to wear it like a badge are actually signaling their refusal to let the rest of us exist.
I, for one, would feel perfectly comfortable in an MMO with 90% straight people. (This is just called existing in public.) I would leave immediately if 90% of people wore a “Straight” title for no discernable reason.
I’ve decided to believe that there was a grueling audition process and he ultimately had to go forward with his second choice.
why aren’t you guys screaming?
I screamed when Bush won a second term. I screamed when Trump won his first term. The American people can’t really let me down any further than they already have.
Do you mean rioting? The guy even won the popular vote, possibly fair and square. Are you under the impression that there is some action we can take at this point to improve the situation?
because people couldn’t get no injustice, they stayed home
That’s not a valid interpretation of the situation. Millions of people who voted for Biden did not come out for Kamala. There’ll be a lot of people trying to discern why and you probably won’t like my guess, but it’s too early to really have good information. Exit polls said only about 10 percent of people cared about Gaza at all. This idea of progressives not voting, sending the election to Trump doesn’t hold water at all. Dems first instinct is to punch left. I hope they learn a better lesson from this loss.
People who don’t vote aren’t hanging out on Lemmy talking about politics. All of the vitriol from Democrats is even more misplaced than usual. This outcome was pretty much what I thought would happen, but when I talk about how Dem decisions aren’t exciting voters, the response is to admonish me to vote, missing the point entirely.
it’s broken deliberately by one side to suit them,
Refusing to admit the part the Dems play is part of the problem as well. We can’t keep doing the same thing we’ve always done, and if we don’t learn from this we are truly doomed.
Because you have Google. I suspect most people know their star sign. (The Chinese Zodiac is something different.) I don’t believe in astrology, but it’s certainly common enough that it seems difficult to avoid learning at some point. If not, you can find out in 30 seconds.
All it is is an abstraction to make it slightly harder for bad actors and computer programs, not an endorsement of astrology.
