No just a non-native English speaker error in this case
The company behind this robot is going bankrupt, which is why support ends and they stop working. This law would do nothing in this case because the company seizes to exist.
Maybe, IDK…I’ve never had a car with a recall on it before.
Tesla owners are not notified as such when the recalls are fixed by SW updates, they just get an update pushed to the car and a request in the car that there is an update ready to install.
I just think it’s useful to have different words for things that can be easily fixed without having to go get the car to a mechanic and having no immediate safety impact, and things that may require you to take the vehicle to a mechanic ASAP because there is immediate serious danger. They should not be in the same category, and people should be aware that they require different levels of attention and urgency. When it’s all just referred to as a “recall”, people will start to not take them seriously when they more often than not are minor things like this.
the automaker said it’s providing a free software update to fix the problem.
I know it has to be called a recall, but they really should find another name for these things now that OTA SW updates for issues are a thing, not only for Tesla but also other manufacturers.
Sort of, but not quite…It’s intentionally done in a way that in no way scales well and quickly becomes cost prohibitive for small players (not just individuals) to run a server because it requires an insane amount of data and bandwidth. So in practice you can only run a server if you’re willing to throw a shitload of money after server capacity.
…dum tss!
Who cares…it’s just changing one shitpile for the next soon-to-be shitpile. Bluesky will inevitably go down the shitter too once its users have enough inertia to keep them there as they squeeze them dry.
It is not in a dock. Yea, subnet of laptop is the same as the rest of the network.
I can reach the router from the laptop yes, I can see the laptop and it’s IP on the router too.
I also can’t ping or SSH from the laptop
Laptop cannot ping or access jellyfin server, other devices can ping and access without issues.
It’s important that I can restrict certain users to specific content based on age rating, i dont want to do that manually. the server has content for both kids and adults, and my *arr stack + jellyfin works really well aside from these two devices which have quirks.
I’ve use Kodi years ago, i absolutely hated using it.
A simple and intuitive UI is important, since the kids have to be able to use it as well.
Yeah I really prefer as close to plug-and-play as possible, I don’t want to spend hours tinkering to get something that basic working.
I’ll take a look and see if it’s low effort enough.
Do you know of a solution won’t boots directly to jellyfin and can ONLY be used with that?
stove them out of sight?
We have a fairly minimalistic setup around the TV, there’s nowhere to hide it which is why we originally went with an appleTV because it looks pretty decent.
Was looking for something a bit more elegant…An old laptop is going to look like shit
We pretty much exclusively print photos, for all sorts of things. We never really need to print text pages.
We didn’t buy a crappy inkjet with subscriptions and DRM though
Lower employee cost…
Seriously though, people who can do good R&D are not cheap (rightfully so IMO) and they often spend thousands of hours before anything they do can be monetised and start earning a company money. It’s a big expense that a company need to be able to absorb for an unknown amount of time and without any guarantees that the current direction pans out into something profitable.
Depending on the industry, regulatory requirements are also expensive to fulfill and another barrier to slow things down and increase the required man hours to reach a finished product.
