Maybe you should make sure this doesn’t happen in other industrial countries before shitting on the US

Those dents will pull right out
That’s drone better be pretty low on the horizon
The Cattle Callin album buy Hank III. Every song is “music” played along with cattle auctioneers doing their thing
Of course, that’s why I said follow your conscience. Social media particularly Lemmy is a terrible place to ask questions like this though. You may as well as if it’s okay to become a cop LOL. The truth is the world does need landlords and cops. When they get demonized good people are less likely to become them and narcissists will take their place.
I was a landlord and had no problem saying so here. No matter what I said, people cut me down. My renters called me the best landlord, one called me the coolest landlord. Their opinions are the ones I care about. I charged $300 less than the house next door. None of this mattered to folks on Lemmy. I don’t take it personal. People talk differently anonymously online than they do in person. That’s their shortcoming not mine.
Good luck with whatever decision you make. I hope you have someone to mentor you in real life. I had several plus friends who are carpenters, plumbers, electricians and HVAC techs. They were invaluable
That’s a catchy tune for sure but it’s odd to hear someone being nostalgic about it. It wasn’t unusual for someone to say “sorry but all I have is am jams” if they gave you a lift and their radio didn’t have FM (AM being pronounced phonetically so it rhymes with jams). AM radio was more known for oldies, pre 60’s music. Also the signal faded when you drove under a bridge. For reference I graduated in '84
Snitches get McStitches?
Ok boomer 😜
They are the citation. They are the one reporting it as fact. I’m not saying to believe everything you read but they are the ones putting their reputation on the line. Opinion commentators can say whatever they want because it’s their opinion. Big difference.
When reading hard news from an outlet that actually hires journalists I consider that to be the source.
When reading opinion I definitely do a bit more digging, keeping an eye out for half truths. I wouldn’t consider this to be journalism
Back in the day our AM stations had local programming. Mostly call in talk shows that covered issues both local and far. The hosts would describe themselves as conservative but they were way more tame than the shit today. Then Rush Limbaugh went national.
The ultralight stuff is a whole new set of gear I’ve considered buying but don’t know if I’ll use it enough to be worth it. My old school ass carries about 50lbs on a weekend trip though it drops fast as I eat up the food and drink the beer. I managed this for decades while my body weight was about 130lbs. Now I’m at 170 with plantar fasciitis, mild arthritis and possibly Covid lingering effects.
Why do you GAF what anybody here says? Sounds like you’ve been given a great opportunity. If it improves your life go for it. Let your conscience be your guide
Fishing. 5 bucks here and there, it adds up. Even more so, fly fishing. I have some many materials
Opposite with me. I’ve got 25+ years of hiking in, never been a gearhead. That shit’s expensive. I buy one and make it work until it don’t work no more
As a guy who rented out one house for a very fair price i can tell you I’m the devil.
Best way to beat a bad habit is to replace it with a good habit.
For some insects it’s part of their life cycle. They spend the majority of their life in a larval stage after being born in the water. Then one day they rise from the water as adults, fly around and mate , finally returning to the water surface to lay their eggs and expire. This is the basis for fly fishing. The angler has to present a fly that imitates the insect in the particular life stage that the fish are eating. Mayflies, midges, caddis and stoneflies are the most common insects. Nymphs, pupae, emergers, dun, spinners are the flies imitating the life stages.
I have plenty of experience working with contractors. I am a contractor. Many of my friends are contractors. When there is an abundance of work they’ll bid high. If they don’t get the job no big deal. If they get paid well then why not take it on, push lesser paying jobs back. Both times I heard this phrase they were making a big deal about nothing and I got someone to do it much cheaper.
That’s from all the journalists in DC
