I remember the sound. Also, it was on a three wheel table, and the whole thing would shake when defragging.

So was mine, but the controller thought it was 10mb so had to load a device driver to access the full size.
Was fine until a friend defragged it and the driver moved out of the first 10mb. Thereafter had to keep a 360kb 5¼" drive to boot from.
That was in an XT.
Similar happened to a pilot some years ago when the windscreen ejected itself. (wrong bolts if I remember the air crash investigation episode.) He survived though. Was held by co pilot.
Pretty mental isn’t it!
I’m in Australia. We might be a bit nuts over here but at least we have Medicare. Private health insurance is optional and becoming increasingly expensive, but the public system, although stressed, covers everyone.
We do pay a Medicare levy in our taxes but it’s nothing like USA costs. A few hundred a year I think.
They are. Not bad heaters back in the day.
I bought a uv tooth brush sterilizer. Not sure if it’s doing anything useful but it’s a colourful addition to the bathroom.
He has his limits apparently…
“Your McLeans are showing.”
“It’s been going on for quite a while…”
Decompose.

Hard to beat for working with dying drives, although it’s a bit tricky to get it to just do used data areas instead of the whole drive.
Is that because it indexes the contents of files? (or pretends to.)
I think pool would be harder to emulate than pinball unless using a real cue and VR. It’d be hard to have a one to one user interface for this whereas pinball is mostly binary since flippers went electronic.
That said, I’ve fond memories of some pool games in the DOS / '95 era. The duration of the mouse click being the analog to the cue force.
Hehe you’re right kinda.
I take my phone data offline after about midnight and if I can’t sleep I’ll do Solitaire or crosswords.
If I’m really wanting a good game, Zen Pinball is my poison. One day I plan to get an old TV and turn it into a Zen Pinball machine, as others have done on YouTube.
He might hit a power or water line.
I can’t hear you. Or your verb.
So that’s why it says ‘get your ass to Mars’…
Once it may have been called ALDL instead. My '95 Commodore has one. Assembly Line Diagnostic Link. Same physical connector.
