Yes, but that’s not what i mean, i mean other non steam software. Software developers will follow wherever users will go. And they will bring their mechanisms to protect their proprietary software.

It didn’t feel right when I wrote it, but English isn’t my first language. Thanks!
I don’t agree with number 2. Ubuntu had always been the ““default”” when Linux was the target. They must be scrambling at Canonical right now.
This could lead to some sort of controlling mechanism that will check if your OS is actually SteamOS, otherwise some kind of DRM would prevent you from playing online for example. I’m wary.
Also people are forgetting that gaming isn’t the only thing people use their computers for. They are convenience devices. They want to game on the PC they also use for other things. They will not switch for gaming only. Companies who sell software will see this and start piling on their controlling mechanisms, tracking, … More proprietary things will come, I mean games already are, and they are not in the spirit of Linux.
I’m bad at expressing my thoughts, but I hope you understand what I’m trying to say.
Like IBM and Red Hat!
They applaud it even.
It’s called “Wellbeing” and will be available in the Settings app.
GNOME has a screen recorder built in, but I use OBS because it’s a swiss army knife of (screen) recording.
Wether or not Russia is capable of taking over Ukraine, lives are lost in Ukraine. That’s a reason to be worried. You can laugh at Russia’s failure to carry out the task they put before themselves, but in the end people are suffering.
The whole point of their operation wasn’t to “not be capable to take over Ukraine”, it was “(to be capable) to take over Ukraine”.
I think you misunderstood me.
If you put aside the argument that Russia isn’t capable of running over Ukraine, cities are still laid to waste, people are getting killed…
“A stop job is running for … (56s / 2min)”
Mhm yes, is this going to fuck up older games?
I did the exact same thing. IceWM with XP skin, Firefox with an extension that changed the name in the title bar to internet explorer + a IE theme. Then Thunderbird with an outlook theme. For years they used it like this and no longer did I have to clean out viruses or remove IEs additional toolbars that plagued that era.
Occasionally I would run some updates and that was it.
WinDirStat, Notepad++, Greenshot and Filelocator pro lite (aka agent ransack) are my default programs to install on windows machines.
Haskell packages every other day…
I plugged in a monitor yesterday on my work laptop 's HDMI port and it did nothing. After some troubleshooting I apparently had to unplug the USB-C dock for it to work. Let’s not pretend Windows is smooth sailing all the time.
At a meeting I was given some kind of remote dongle to duplicate my screen to a monitor and it did nothing. Had to run some exe first. Again, not plug and play.
But there was always a workaround.
You played 2 hours to die like this?
We are trialing off brand docks. Wouldn’t be a trial otherwise 😄 these work perfect btw.
They might rely on parts that have non open sourced drivers or firmware. Perhaps different parts of the code were authored by different people and they need everyone approval.
