It is very true, and how trauma is passed on from generation to generation. If you can skip a generation or escape the trauma you are essentially the stopping point of that trauma.

This is what IT feels like. Everything is working? What do we pay those guys for?
Everything is not working? What do we pay those guys for?
I think there is a quote somewhere from someone that says people talk about people, smarter people talk about facts and even smarter people talk about ideas. I am probably murdering the quote, but it was something like that.
It makes sense though, talking about other people doesn’t really provide much direction in life. Facts do provide more direction in life, but ideas really function as a pointer in a lot of situations when may not know what to do otherwise.
Just wait for something else that dominates the news and do it then, so nobody will notice. Very old trick.
If it would not affect the life of so many people, I would enjoy seeing the country fall apart. Now I just feel sorry for all the poor bastards that have to live there.
I do suspect immigration won’t be an issue in a couple of years, because nobody wants to live there anymore. So that’s something to look out for.
Just the other day, I read an article about how much cases they are able to solve because of the footage. That is a good thing in my opinion.
The police also will ask for the footage, but you don’t have to give it. It’s entirely up to you if you want to do so.
Even so, I prefer not to be filmed at random by people’s door bells, thank you very much.
I’d like to add some strength too. I don’t give a shit about the latest AI fuzzy on any phone, but if it would please last at least a year without cracking the screen or the back that would be amazing. And a record for me. Doesn’t have to be razor thin either. Just make it beefy.
Oh I agree. It’s just not always how it goes.
Should be, maybe. The reality is that you can spend extra time making the program work, but if it works and you want to spend extra hours on it for whatever reason, it’s usually considered a waste of time.
Until they get hacked and it costs incredible amounts of money, that is.
Smart programmers do all the things they need to do before they get everything working. As soon as it works they get pushed to work on something else.
Netflix has stopped being a product I am interested in a long time ago.
When they started out, they had a lot of stuff. These days, you’ll have to subscribe to 5 or 6 services to watch a lot. And every service makes their own shitty shows to attract more customers. And 99% of them suck, with the occasional succes.
Right now, Netflix is too expensive for what they offer. But clearly they think they can get away with raising proces, so I guess most people think it is worth it or simply don’t care.
The answer is probably you.
Don’t worry, they generally don’t drive for long until they break anyway …
I was outside on concrete with grass on the side of it and forgot to put the hand brake in. I step off, just to see the truck roll into the grass with the back wheel. Luckily the concrete the truck was on was high enough to stop the truck when one wheel was on the grass.
The truck was stuck now. Driving forward didn’t work, pulling did not work. In the end we pushed a piece of pipe under it with hammers on both sides and that was enough to lift the back of the truck high enough that I could drive it forward again.
Still sucked though. I never forgot the hand brake again. Also did not get fired, that is never really an option for employers here.
That is a really good one. Because you can’t stop it, but a comfortable temperature is always comfortable.
Pffft. If you only start debugging after so many lines, you’re asking for it. Always test small parts as much as possible.
Usually if a thing is not allowed, there is a good reason for it. Unfortunately many people seem to ignore that because they don’t know or understand the reason.
My knees. I am past 30, and my knees somehow don’t want to bend anymore.
On the other hand the older I get, the smarter I get about life. Do some physical activity on a regular basis, keep some long term goals in mind, don’t let your emotional state depend on external factors.
Find balance in your life and know your limits and you will be all right.
YouTube is simply squeezing hard now.
They are big enough that 90% of the people who do look at videos do it there. So a video that is posted elsewhere simply does not get the exposure that it does on YouTube.
That gives them a lot of power. And they use it to squeeze as much money as possible from anyone they can. Now, if they would do big squeezes, people would notice and they would at least try to find other sites.
So just like abuse, it’s a slow process of tearing little barriers down of what is acceptable, until at some point users one by one start to realize it has all turned to shit.
But that is going to take a lot of time, and until that happens we are just going to see more reports about all the things YouTube does.
We will keep seeing angry nerds upset about it, and they will block ads and work around it. But nothing else will change. And that is such a small part of the userbase of YouTube that they don’t even feel it.
So I’m going to block ads, watch what I want to watch as long as the site is usuable without ads, and I will stop using the site when ads can no longer be blocked. YouTube is simply not that important to me.
Why not, it will definitely reduce the amount of sick people. Because they are dead of course, but still.
Joking obviously.
There is always something going on. The world is always falling apart. The locations just vary.
In other words, this too shall pass. Do what you can to make the world a better place, survive, and let go of what you cannot control. Can’t carry the world on you shoulders all the time. Sometimes it has to save isself or deal with the consequences.
