Penises should be loved.
Penises should be loved.
There are a thousand better takes on Elon being a nazi piece of shit than trying to trash the most advanced rocket company in the world with weak arguments.
NASA always uses third party contractors for launch vehicles, and spacex is the best rocket company. Nobody is even close to second place now that Boeing is in the business of producing death traps and national security risks.
You call Elon a terrible piece of shit, but that thankfully has little to do with Shotwells excellent leadership at spacex.
Bless this guys heart, but after the Dibble affair it is clear there is no point debating insane positions in front of an insane audience.
Bluesky will never be fully decentralized. The DID needs a central authority like DNS. Its architecture is distributed though.
Ideally the DID stuff is put into a foundation, and once the open source the other components anyone who can handle the fire hose can join.
This article has zero mention of this guy being a white supremacist. Like he is on video saying white people are the superior race.
Omitting this is enabling right wing extremism.
Until fediverse advocates stop thinking of people as simple minded, they will never understand the steps needed to be relevant.
The main advantage to Bluesky’s architecture is centralized identity and distributed components.
The centralized identity is key. Unless someone figures out a way to do this in activitypub, the fediverse will remain niche.
Nope. It’s over. Threads only had momentum from it automatically creating accounts for Meta users. Bluesky is organic.
The free tier is pretty good for many people. It’s mostly Photos that ever push people into actually paying for an iCloud account.
I don’t use logic, but yeah the whole iWork suite, Freeform, Reminders, Notes. I think HomeKit data is also synced, and given how much data corruption happens in HomeKit as it is, I would dread any other complication.
There’s also the transparent encryption that happens where even Apple can’t get your stuff.
I mean I’d be a fan if Apple published a requirement spec for the iCloud api and opened it up to third parties, but it will be a lot to unpack and implement.
This holds up for simple file hosting, but the entire suite of Apple apps supports collaboration, many with live editing features. Slow sync times would put a damper on that.
Rumors are indicating that they want to offer some subscriptions to users(domain registration and hosting of various bluesky components).
The company is currently TINY, under 50 employees. So as long as the infra costs stay low, it won’t take much. If enough users get vanity domains, and they get some govt/enterprise accounts for hosting bsky.cnn.com and such.
So the idea is that they want to get to some ethical monetization strategy before releasing the software to aggregate content is released, and federation is enabled.
Did you vote for Harris or Stein?
For them to accept this they would have to value their principled fantasies less than the fascist reality they have enabled.
Is the 5 watts on an M series Mac?
Why is the moon more relevant than mars?
How is SpaceX destructive compared to other rocket companies? Also, do you know who built the Saturn V?
You are totally ignoring their arguments. Not every place can do wind or solar or hydro. Like it’s simply not an option.
This would be a non controversy if they just ignored twitter.
Twitter is just the new Parler.
This is how I find out I missed retro gaming con AGAIN.
Yeah, people keep throwing the Lebanon attacks in the “Gaza Genocide” pile without thinking of implications of the differences in tactics and precision.
Israel could have made a measured, targeted response to the Hamas attack. They looked at their spies, assassins, intelligence, stealth drones, and booby trapped pagers, and put them aside in favor of tens of thousands of bombs.
They chose genocide.
Decentralization is is unobtainable. You have to have a source of truth. DNS has shown us the way, everyone else is fucking around.
Gotta have a trusted org to manage identities.
