Then I would say, YMMV. I haven’t had much experience with debt collectors, but in my case, I owed.

If you owe money, you are obligated to pay it back. Running away from it will make things worse. What you can do is offer them $1, stating that you can’t afford to pay anything more. They MUST accept an attempted payment (in the US). They will demand more, but if you stick to it, they will accept your payment.

That being said, there are some debts that can be immorally large. Medical debt and college debt are made with imaginary numbers.

However, once you have it, it never goes away.

Ive been programming as a hobby before I got a degree in game programming last year. I applied to as many companies as I could, for 6 months, before my funds ran dry. I was forced to go back to min wage.

I’ve seen people program, and I’ve seen people “program”. People who “program” do it 10 times faster than someone who takes the time to solve the problem and build a modular solution that scales.

Who is the company going to hire, the person who fixes it fastest, or the person who fixes it right?

I’m using my degree to seek a new career. I love programming, but I can’t fight the industry.

One player I follow called GeoWizard makes YouTube videos of his games, as well as challenges himself to find locations of fan photos and such. Your situation sounds like the ladder. :D

On a different note, he also takes on real life challenges, such as crossing European countries in a (nearly) straight line, or traveling as far as he can with just 10 pounds in his pocket. Recommend checking out a series if you’ve got time.
