Nothing really. I guess insect enthusiasts will have one or two to find only here in Germany?
We’re relatively small and surrounded by other countries, I would be surprised if any species stays within this border.

There is a difference when you show things getting crushed „for science“ and showing basically a whole room of tools for creativity being crushed to replace it with a cold, flat digital device. Especially now that AI is threatening to replace many creative jobs, this is just bad timing. Ads are also statements.
I hope it was all CGI because my first thought was, what a waste of beautiful, fully intact things. I personally don’t like seeing those videos on Youtube either.
Cyan is not blue and magenta is not red.
I like going for a walk around the city or to the Rhine river and watch the ships go by.
If you’re the social kind, go to the park and ask someone who plays frisbee or other activity to join in.
Running is a great sport that’s relatively cheap and also helps against depression.
Geocaching is fun alone and with other people, but not in the city (in my opinion).
Check your local newspaper and see what events are going on. Sometimes events are cheap or even free.
Found the colleague
The weather was probably much nicer when they chose this spot. You could see them arguing over it. I wish I had it on video.
Not peculiar but it was fun watching them failing to build their nest at the top of the tree in front of my balcony. The wind blew everything down immediately, it was like a slapstick film. They tried for a week but never managed to fix more than a few sticks and those are gone by now too. Hope they found a better spot.
Ah this is why they started showing screensavers now in the pause screen on the Apple TV app. They just needed this feature to bother people even more. Well, I won’t see it since I made the deal with the devil half a year ago and got Premium and I think it’s actually worth the money considering it’s my most watched streaming service by far.
I looked in the mirror.
Kinda kidding, I have not found anyone for longterm but I learned to be ok with it and stop hating myself.
It was always hard for developers to offer one-time payment in these low price ranges. People still expect constant development and get angry when you release a completely new app for version 2 and so on. It’s rare that this price model works. Things 3 is 6 years old and still great but for each device you pay a relatively high price up front and development is kinda slow. They made an amazing app from the start and there is not much more to expect, so that’s why people are happy. But I think they hit a niche with people wanting exactly that and nothing more. But I think these are the best apps because they make sure to release a complete product.
These apps do exist but they can’t be found in the hot mess that is the App Store front page. You kinda have to stumble over them.
I’m also not a fan of subscriptions. I understand why devs do it but many times they feel obligated to release new features and change everything which just makes the app more bloated. Or the apps are not really updated but you pay for the content, which is mostly the same stuff you can find for free somewhere else.
Wow thank you I did not know that! I’ve used Quickscan so far, which is fine, but even that is too much overhead for my purpose.
It would be tough in the beginning but sure. I’ve watched everything interesting anyw… oh what’s that? Another rabbit hole!
I don’t know if it’s the best (what defines that?) but it’s what I do.
I wake up, my dog notices and jumps around in excitement. I greet him, pet him, then take my phone, do the daily NYT Mini Crossword and browse around for a few minutes while he lies down again, waiting patiently. I stand up, go pee, then I take my dog out for a walk. Afterwards I prepare my oatmeal, then prepare my dog’s food (it needs to soak a few minutes), go open all windows to get fresh air in, start the work computer and quickly check my mails, then we both eat our breakfast while I check my RSS feeds.
Best I can do is a Streamer with a whopping 6K subscribers
A danish dough whisk. Somehow it’s easier to mix dough and it won’t have so much gunk sticking between the wires like in the balloon shaped whisks. It can be cleaned easy by hand. It’s pretty large though.
I’m sure there is intelligent life out there but if we ever cross paths is very uncertain.
Alien Isolation is seriously one of the best games ever made and it still holds up today. It was just a bit too long.
