Twitter’s Circles function much the same as Google+’s did. It was a really great feature. Seems like it’s on Twitter’s chopping block now.

Going to show my privilege here and say Superhuman. It’s expensive as hell, but if you’re like me and email is a major part of your job, it may be worth it. I can get the gmail web client to do about 90% of what Superhuman does, though. So for an economical version, perhaps look up a guide on how to setup and use the Gmail web interface with nothing but a keyboard. In my experience, taking the time to learn how to navigate your inbox in this way pays dividends down the road. Good luck!
There’s a lot of good info already in here. I’d also recommend checking out the trending post tab, that’s where you’ll typically find some of the posters with the highest number of followers (“hubs” in the Mastodon zeitgeist). I’d also recommend that you follow Lisa Melton https://mastodon.social/@lisamelton. She boosts a ton of stuff and almost single-handedly acts like Mastodon’s algorithm. Her boosts will give you lots of cool accounts to follow, and at the very least will populate your timeline.
Just did, thanks for the recommendation!
I had a good group of friends use it and that made it really fun. I remember the product itself being great initially. It just never gained any users.
