I thought it was always DNS? 🫣
Hi I’m Tim.
I’m AuDHD - officially diagnosed ADHD and self-diagnosed (for now) with ASD. I also suffer from a great deal of Imposter Syndrome.
I thought it was always DNS? 🫣
This just had me think of “Ten Crack Commandments” by The Notorious B.I.G. as he samples that.
But the data mining is off the charts Bob! More AI! More server things! We must be ready for our robot overlords!
Have Trump’s DOJ turn a blind eye on the prisoner on suicide watch on the eve of his trial, where he is expected to name names? I’m not sure killing Luigi, or letting him take his own life, and making him a martyr instead of an “example” is really a great play for them.
Trump has previously been highly critical of Mr Zuckerberg and Facebook - calling the platform “anti-Trump” in 2017.
So much for “free speech” and all that “freedom” these guys are always going off about. The guy did his part of being hands off and letting Trump’s disinformation spread far and wide on Facebook in the run up to 2016, but now feels like he has to pay a million dollars to keep his business in OK standing.
This is just the beginning of Trump’s fascist regime, with open bribes and bullying corporations to do the States bidding. And Elon obviously saw it as both an opportunity to make Trump swap from EV bad to non-Tesla bad, and Elon gets a government job firing people that would be roadblocks for his corporations.
This is going to be an insane timeline, and hoping anyone with any power doesn’t just hand the government over to this mad man and end the Republic without a fight.
Just a hunch, but probably a stud right in the middle and they either didn’t want to deal with it, or didn’t know how to move it. Makes sense if it’s someone watching a video and doing it themselves to save money.
This guy loves the taste of the corporate boot on his neck JFC. Who will think of the poor mega corporations! Assholes like this are fueling the rollback of worker rights under the guise of being some worker white knight, meanwhile he spreads propaganda like this:
“This unfairly burdens teams, wastes company resources, blocks jobs for others, and limits humanity’s progress. It has to stop.”
This is what is limiting humanity’s progress? Not the mega corps that can deceive workers, and destroy people’s lives, destroy the environment, and suck the life from everything in the name of profit, and if caught get a wrist slap already built into their margins?
Yeah, sounds like the more mature Plex backend might just be better for your use case. But just because I’m curious are you running Jellyfin as an app or in docker? And is your Synology Intel based or AMD, as the latter will only do software transcoding and probably easily overwhelm a NAS CPU.
I think the transcode part is decided by the client, but in the Jellyfin server admin you can control if a client can request a transcode (which may not be actually needed - and if you know what client they are running it’s probably easier to decide). This could just be client setting though, because I know on Jellyfin you can change the “backend” in the client that it tries to use and can make the difference on things like x265/HVEC playing back or not.
Interesting, again at least in the android/web/Linux client ecosystem I’ve not experienced any of those issues, and Jellyfin has caused me less family tech support issues than Plex or Emby. I guess it all depends on the platform, and how much outside of just media consumption you’re wanting your server to do.
Thanks for the follow up.
And people don’t realize how long they can hold power after the device has been “off”.
Edit - I forgot to add my thing! A good example of something that doesn’t sound scary is a TV, but it has large capacitors that can end you (or make a bad day).
Current smoke detectors still do, and usually have some warning on them stating such.
Ah, “standards”, you got to love them. I was also thinking in terms of using Chromecasting" and not the use of the physical Chromecast device. Thanks for the follow up.
You made some outlandish claims and then refused to back them up. Either you’re talking out of your ass or you’re a bot, which is it?
I have a Lifetime license to Plex, so I have used it, and oddly they do not have your exact requirements listed on the site that I can find. Can you link me, as Google is coming up blank also.
The Android version at least has Chromecast support, not sure on other platforms.
So the server part runs worse from your NAS? That seems odd but I have never run either from a NAS so no idea how to help. =(
What features specifically?
Not asking this to be combative, but as Jellyfin convert I’m curious what quality/features you are missing? Also what platform are you using mainly?
I watch mostly using the Android app or Nvidia Shield, and the client does everything Plex did (in terms of just media watching - no DVR or other features ) without all the bloat the current Plex client brings.
From the guy who pays and buses people in to fill out the camera view behind him at rallies? That guy (or his handlers) would do this!? Wild! Shocked I am, just shocked!
