Me too. And SMS since we are on mix of Android and Apple.
NMS is my Zen game. I have over 500 hours in it just in the last two years. I know the game is not for everybody. I have friends who don’t understand why I hop through the galaxies, explore systems, hunt for ships, play the expeditions, and build base after base after base, even though so much can feel repetitive for some. But for me, it became my new Minecraft - “one more brick”. I love the expansive feel of it, and find the isolation relaxing. If i want to see others i can hop over to the Anomaly or hit the community build areas. I cannot wait to see what Hello Games has come up with.
Yes, works well for me. My work uses GMail and K-9 supports it. I don’t have the Play Store and K-9 supports OAuth.
Forgot about Drunken Bar Fight. I have the Halloween one and can vouch for it as well.
Like others mentioned, Subnautica, No Man’s Sky, and Skyrim are fun in VR, but not made for it. No Man’s Sky, though, almost feels like it was. Also Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice is really good in VR (and spooky). For “VR-First” games, obviously Beat Saber, but also found Thrill of the Fight (Boxing) fun and a great workout. On PC/Steam, many of the Steam Home places are very cool.
I also added birthdays to the contacts on my phone. I found an Android app called Birday that reminds me when someone’s birthday is based on the dates in my contacts. Birday and the clock are the only two widgets on my homescreen. People seem to like that I reach out with a text or phone call to talk to them on their birthday over the FB “click to send happy birthday” thing (which is still better than forgetting, to be fair).
Same as you. SMS and phone for most, email and phone for my older relatives. Lemmy and Mastodon for news and information. I have gotten some friends and coworkers to use Signal Messenger, but really, I am kind of done trying to convince people to change their habits. I do feel left out of some conversations that I know happen on Facebook and Apple iMessage, but not really worth “the extras” of having those accounts.
We have a few games that are always in rotation - Left 4 Dead 2, Payday 2, Vermintide 2, Risk of Rain 2. Basically just coop FPS games that, as I list them, happen to be sequels lol. We also play Valheim when new updates come out. Lately trying out Earth Defense Force 5.
I really enjoyed Voyager. Saw it for the first time in 2020-2023, so maybe that played a part. Of course Tuvok, Seven, EMH, and Janeway were great, but I even liked Neelix as a character.
