A spokesman for the Pokémon Company International told the Daily Beast, “We are aware of a recent video posted by the Department of Homeland Security that includes imagery and language associated with our brand. “Our company was not involved in the creation or distribution of this content, and permission was not granted for the use of our intellectual property.”
It’s pure damage control. It’s a shame to see it.
Don’t get me wrong, there could be a take down request going on in the background, but that’s futile. DHS and ICE are federal agencies. Taking on federal agencies is near impossible for a variety of reasons I won’t get into. The process is entirely in the governments favor, and always has been, even prior to a fascist regime taking over.
Given all that, it would be much more comforting to see the companies involved speaking out a bit more, but that’s asking for too much I’d say.
No contact. I tried. I tried so hard to point out the wrongs committed by the regime that I thought that they would disagree with, but MAGAs just bend reality around it all.
It’s painful, given that most of us don’t do this out of a sense of right or wrong, but because we care. You get used to it eventually though.
