Don’t get me wrong, there could be a take down request going on in the background, but that’s futile. DHS and ICE are federal agencies. Taking on federal agencies is near impossible for a variety of reasons I won’t get into. SL was too complicated when I was a kid. Might be different now, but a lot of us went onto IMVU instead. It originally had no separation for over and under 18 accounts, but even after they added it you had both kids and adults blatantly intermingling anyways. I don’t quite understand the outrage in the thread. I’ve been looking through the comments, trying to see if this ever went beyond gossip and I can’t find anything.

From my understanding the app was intended to be a safe space for women to discuss dating. Relaying information about dangerous individuals, or people who cheat. I can imagine that things might have gotten slightly out of hand in regards to anonymous gossip, but is that anything compared to being doxxed? Besides, women, and men have been gossiping behind each others backs for as long as humans have existed. An anonymous app makes it significantly worse certainly, but it is what it is. This behavior is always going to exist for better or for worse. For example, people already discuss this on sites like fetlife since the risk of ending up with someone who wants to batter you for the sake of battering you is somewhat high there.

Surely we can have some sympathy for people who have had their identifications doxxed by 4chan who haven’t done anything worse than a bit of toxic gossip at most?

You could easily. We have resources such as LexusNexus or Westlaw which your firm should be paying for. Even searching on Google Scholar should be enough to verify. Stay away from Casetext though, it’s new and mostly AI. LN and WL also have AI integration but it’s not forced, you’re still capable of doing your own research.

I’ve been telling people this for a while, but everyone needs to treat AI like how we used to treat the wiki. It’s a good secondary source that can be used to find other more reliable sources, but it should never be used as your single standalone source.

I’m not going to sugarcoat it, AI is being forced everywhere you look and it is getting a bit difficult to get away from it, but it hasn’t taken over everything to the point where there is no longer any personal responsibility. People need to have some common sense and double check everything as they’ve been taught to do even before AI.

A bit of an exaggeration but a lot of people will never understand that some people do not have much of a social battery left at the end of the day.

I have had so many people including rl friends, exs, or people I used to play online games with fail to understand that I don’t have that much energy in the evenings or even on the weekends sometimes. There’s dealing with my boss, dealing with my coworkers, dealing with people from other firms. Sometimes through teams, sometimes through the phone, sometimes in person.

Right, and the puppet in charge will be rather obvious. The only other candidate that would win in a fair Ukrainian election is even more aggressive about opposing Russia than Zelenskyy, but since this is going to be rigged neither of those will win.

(for those curious: the Ukrainian constitution prohibits electing a president during war, it’s especially hard with 20% of the country under hostile control; and regarding Zelensky’s rating, it’s about 70% currently)

A lot of Ukrainians have also fled the country, it makes no sense to organize this before ending the war. Why do we have to have this discussion? They are at war, marshal law is common during times of war to keep your country unified during these periods. Not everyone is fortunate enough to have vast oceans between them and their adversaries to allow for elections of their highest office to continue uninterrupted.

From the moment he won the election until now we’ve seen a lot of world leaders attempting to make nice with him and appease him. It should be clear now that he cannot be appeased nor will his ego ever be satisfied. He is going to take and take and take until other countries start telling him no and laying out boundaries that they’re willing to strictly enforce if need be.

Hard to say. Her public attitude towards a lot of issues is fantastic but she comes from money. She wouldn’t be able to pursue her personal interests and campaigns without the wealth she has.

This is just a blatant power grab. It’s not about porn, after all if they were really concerned about nsfw sites they’d be happy with how easy the site is to regulate. If they wanted to they could potentially find a way to bring in tax revenue with it.

This is all about control and getting people used to having the government invading their privacy. Over time they’ll shift and start invading other online spaces.

Despite the current wealth inequality a good number of people are still living decently enough.

I’m waiting to see what happens when Trump starts putting his taxes in place. When people are miserable enough they’ll take to the streets and protest. If we reach a breaking point where living conditions completely break down and there still aren’t protests then it may as well be over for democracy.

I mean good but is no one worried about the kid not having any issues with taking someone’s life? Maybe I’m missing out on some extra pieces of info, but it is a bit concerning even if it is an intruder.
