AndromedusGalacticus@lemm.eeto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•What are tankies? What does sea-lioning mean?English3·2 years agoYep, I think you’re right. I can probably bypass this with a link shortener, but it’s not worth selling out people’s data. Just copy and paste it if you’re running into issues.

AndromedusGalacticus@lemm.eeto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•When we go swimming and spend extended time in water, do the little bugs who live on our skin suffocate and die?English1·2 years agoYeah, I’m aware. There were like 10 comments with no replies, so I thought it’d be fun to see what the Chatbot would say. I didn’t take its answer too seriously, but I knew people might be sensitive to the answer. It would have been unfair of me to not say that it was though. Now people can at least decide whether or not to discard the information by providing a “source”.
AndromedusGalacticus@lemm.eeto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•How to crosspost on Lemmy?English6·2 years agoThey’re probably asking how to do it on the PWA.

The answer is: not necessarily. Most of the bacteria on our skin are adapted to living in wet environments, so they will not suffocate. However, some bacteria may be washed away or killed by the chlorine in the pool.
AndromedusGalacticus@lemm.eeto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•is there a simple way to determine who is federated with/defederated from who?English4·2 years agoYou need to be on a web browser, and at the instance you want to check. AndromedusGalacticus@lemm.eeto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Why is it called Lemmy?English1·2 years agoWhy’s it called Lemmy?
- Lead singer from Motörhead.
- The old school video game.
- The Koopa from Super Mario.
- The furry rodents.
I have thought about, what if we set up a similar gold system that donated money to the Lemmy software, and the instance owner to help cover costs? I’m sure we’d collectively ruin it though.
AndromedusGalacticus@lemm.eeto Sync for Lemmy@lemmy.world•Excited by the good news? If you haven't yet bought Ultra Lifetime, nows the time to do itEnglish1·2 years agoI think, he and many users are buying it before it gets taken down in a couple of weeks as a token of appreciation. I’m pretty sure they’re aware that it’s basically a donation.

I'm using Navidrome, but it is not even remotely the same thing.English1·2 years agoYeah, plexamp is honestly amazing. It just doesn’t feel like the backend has the same amount of love for music. It’s undeniable that plexamp trounces any competitor, unless you want a minimal basic listening experience.
AndromedusGalacticus@lemm.eeto Selfhosted@lemmy.world•Spotify Alternative for streaming server1·2 years agoI’ve used Plex, Jellyfin, and Navidrome. I’m currently using Navidrome, but Plexamp is a massively better product for discovering/interacting with your library. The sonic analysis really takes it to another level.
Something worth mentioning is that android auto will not work for graphene. I was so on board until that. It’s understandable why that’s the case though.
