What would be the advantage of ChromeOS over Android anyway? Does it have better memory management when it comes to tabs open or something like that?

Just take a look at the comments in this thread haha
Linus has made a video about this recently trying to build an equivalent machine. There’s really nothing like the base Mac Mini for its price, but that stops being true as soon as you make any upgrades.
The whole sales of Macs is a small portion of Apple’s earnings, but I think it’s still a lot in gross numbers.
I think it’s the sort of thing to keep a hold in case the market shifts and Apple needs to change strategies, like they’ve been doing in raising the percentage coming from services compared to iPhone sales. They’re monetizing the “ecosystem” more than ever.
Difficult to predict how this will go, I think these companies already offer such small prices for the base minimum stuff that’s hard to compete.
It’s probably good to have more competition, but very hard to break into and actually be good.
Begun has the LLM Wars.
He/she is onto something though. An example of it is games made by people who care and love the field being bold and pushing for new cool and interesting stuff vs. games made by companies just wanting money with 0 effort and using the same boring formula.
It can if it’s using something like RAG.
This is true, it’s like other platforms that value content creation rather than value, so people keep repeating the same thing. I haven’t worked as a moderator ever so I don’t know what’s possible or impossible, but I think many of these problems are a result of poor moderation though.
Sometimes moderation needs to be a bit unpopular to have the community work in some way.
Or some people like me prefer ergonomic keyboards and don’t use these miniature overpriced Apple keyboards.
I don’t know, Reddit also has more niche communities that just don’t have enough people in platforms like Lemmy.
I don’t have experience with it, but I’m sure it’s possible to pass the GPU control to the VM, I don’t know how well this sort of thing works.
I think in general, VMWare is the best at working for Windows images.
It’s the totally opposite of what Brazil is doing, which is to force companies to have a legal representation in the country to deal with the law whenever there’s some problem to settle.
lol I didn’t think like that at first, but now it’ll stay in my mind.
Ever since I realized TikTok creates a unique share URL that tells the person you’re the one sharing it, I became paranoid with any social media share links that are created dynamically. I won’t share them unless I try them out first.
Country: it’s illegal to have software development skills 🤡
They’re saying Windows will lock away some customization, but you don’t need a key to use it nowadays.
copyright is a matter of law, and nothing else
This assertion dismisses the ethical considerations often intertwined with legal principles. Laws (including copyright laws) are influenced by moral and ethical values, and there are often huge books on theories about the validity of certain things which serve as the starting point of collections of laws.
the immorality is how companies wield it like a cudgel to entrench their control over culture
While some companies do exploit copyright laws, not all companies use it in this way and whether it brings more harm than good is a point of discussion. But it can’t be generalized.
This completely overlooks the positive aspects of copyright as well, such as protecting the rights of individual creators and ensuring they can earn something from their own work.
Possibly preventing being locked out of the EU.
This sort of reasoning didn’t prevent them from building their own maps app though. It’s just that their deal prevented Apple from investing resources on building a competitor, and it would take years from the time they start until it’d be a ready product.
