Do we have to pull some cyberpunk 2077 type shit and make a new internet? Because it really sounds like it’s becoming a documentary

you may have a case of blindness worse than my school ThinkPad’s scratched up camera, because if you merely read the first 3 words of the title, them being “US judicial logic”, you would’ve realised how off-base your comment is.
As a person with glasses myself, it seems you might need to seek an optometrist, just a thought.
It is quite common for people to refer to South Korea as just korea as I’ve heard time and time again. There is also the fact that in this context, the south is implied even just in the post title alone.
My Oppo Reno z only got one year of updates, so pretty much one or two updates in total, I still love the heck out of using that thing, it’s built well, it’s fast and comfortable, it’s just that they didn’t intend for me to use it after 2020.
Even though it has a cracked screen, I intend to replace it in possibly 2027, because I really don’t mind the cosmetic damage or outdatedness, it works for me, just like how my 9 year old ThinkPad 11e was before I replaced it.
exactly! Like other people get a couple years out of software updates, but fuck me I only got a year, still riding on 2020 software as if I don’t care but it’s just the fact my phone got one update.
My Oppo Reno z has had this for a couple years now, baked into its camera app.
Personally I’m not even on a side currently, there’s too much info to sift through about the conflict, so I’d rather wait to form an actual opinion, although I do find I’m siding with Palestine more.
Also, I’d rather not add more stress to my life, I’d rather focus on bettering myself rather than worrying about problems on the other side of the world.
You may live in a different part of Melbourne than myself, as this is my experience in the western suburbs of Melbourne. I’m unsure of what your experience may be, but I’d find it just as valid as my own, since I haven’t been everywhere.
As a melbournian myself, it’s really disappointing such a thing would occur, although that said I’m not surprised. I’m surrounded by peers who overwhelmingly support Palestine to the extent that they even have targeted hatred towards Jews, mostly singing songs glorifying genocide and throwing racial slurs, which I hypothesise could be the case here.
It’s to the extent that I am terrified to even mention which side I support, as this group would assault anyone with even slight variation in opinion, and the worst part is that I’m not even able to avoid these individuals as it’s a high school with an overwhelming amount of ‘free radicals’.
(And before you say that it’s their fault for supporting Israel, plenty of us do not and never have.)
Honestly, I have encountered my fair share of people who mistake people for supporters of regimes, and I’m really getting sick of it, like people keep saying that all Jews are Zionists and vice versa, but there really isn’t any connection besides the extremely basic surfsce level info.
Fuck it, I wanna be cryogenically frozen, if I can have the chance of living hundreds of years in the future, no matter how slim, I’d rather be prepared.
Yeah I’ve had this same issue on my ThinkPad 11e I recently retired, especially when tinkering with gnome extensions, it was a pain trying to get the window to fit even half of its content, and all the stuff I needed, the bottom panel which had category selectors, was completely out of reach.
With Netanyahu calling them antisemetic
Why do they always call justified responses antisemetic? Like I swear, due to this, I have heard a resurgence of people believing that “Hitler was right in his actions” and “he was trying to save us”, even though that’s clearly a stupid take but I digress.
2007er here, I grew up with a CRT as the TV in our second living room, I’d occasionally watch stuff like Bob the builder and others, but since it was all on analog tv, channels started displaying lots of static, pretty much only like 2 or 3 channels were working last I saw.
Also we had that CRT TV until 2018, then chucked it in the store room, then threw it out in 2020, I kinda miss it, kinda don’t, idk.
The fact that whenever I open myGov on my iPad, and immediately see “connect your digital ID” makes me never want to do that. They also want me to use this ID, which is linked to my Medicare, citizenship, voting, etc., For social media and other accounts, which instantly rings alarm bells in my mind, the government and corpos knowing that I am exactly who I am, and that I am likely not able to disconnect it from myGov nor the social media platforms it could regulate.
Meanwhile in many melbournian shopping centres, you have to input your full legal name, date of birth, address, phone number, post code and email just to get a connection. I’d genuinely rather connect to some random person’s smart lightbulb in their house than use free wifi at shopping centres.
I have not once heard of legislation here that genuinely violated people’s rights other than Victoria’s snap lockdown of a group of apartment buildings during COVID, which got the government into a class action lawsuit.
Saying you value free speech, then saying that people who can violate others rights should also have freedom of speech in that regard, seems like you don’t know anything about what free speech is all about.
on skib?
