Everspace 2 is really close in terms of combat and overall gameplay, but it lacks the immersive simulation aspects. Freelancers idle radio chatter did some heavy lifting back in the day.

There’s the federal volunteer service, which is the spiritual successor. Basically the same thing, but without being forced into it. There also voluntary social or ecological years, which is kind of the same thing as well.

The catalogue seems largely identical to Spotify, but Tidal has higher quality music (I recently found an album in Dolby Atmos).

I also found their app to be more intuitive (which is not exactly a high bar compared to Spotify).

Most importantly though, Tidal has better rates for the artists instead of paying Joe Rogan.

One other thing here is that the sensitivity of the detection is actually decreased with repeat attempts. This is pretty standard.

The reasoning here is that people will check after the first failure. And if they then send the close request again, the car will try a bit harder. Maybe it’s just some bit of oversized luggage that can be pushed down.

I agree that live shows (and buying merch) is the best way to support artists.

But the CDNs required to run a music streaming service are anything but cheap.

I switched to Tidal after Spotify announced the price increase. The catalogue is basically identical, the apps are much more intuitive, and the audio quality is higher (they recently rolled their premium FLAC subscription into the basic one).

I had to retrain the algorithm for a bit, but that was not so difficult. There are services that can migrate/convert playlists which might actually work for favourites as well.

Also, it’s easy easier to download stuff from Tidal, which is very nice for listening to Audiobooks with a dedicated player.
