Chromium is open source, Google bases their Chrome off of it, but Chrome is not open source.
Can you explain that one then because I’m really not seeing what you’re saying.
Cups takes some playing with to get right but once you have it setup and saved, the thing should work whenever
With a caveat on the shield. It’s still android TV so ideally you put your own OS on it if you’re worried about that kind of thing.
They also don’t hold back the aur which causes problems if an aur package is expecting a system package of a particular version, if I understand correctly
Don’t look into South Korean web security. If their cars are as badly designed as their websites… Yikes
The very annoying this is that BattleEye supports Linux, rockstar has just apparently decided not to ask for that from BattleEye
Revanced is also very nice if you prefer the regular YouTube layout and experience
I know someone whose life is made substantially worse because they have a lack of access to healthcare. They live in Europe and can’t get access to the specialized medicine that they need in the timeframe that they need it in. I’m not saying that socialized medicine is bad—I’m actually all for it—but it needs to be implemented well for it to actually work. This is just my anecdotal evidence to say that just because everyone has access doesn’t automatically mean it’s adequate access.
The other day I was reading some GitHub issues involving an issue I was also having and the maintainer of the project was directing people to their discord server to talk about and hopefully resolve the issue. On top of that, they came back to the GitHub issue and just posted that after some discussion (on Discord) the issue had been resolved. Totally useless to me and anybody else who might be searching for that thing.
Pivpn was discontinued just a heads up. I switched to just plain wireguard when I heard the news.
Idk why you’re downvoted for this. I’d also like to see split tabs in firefox. I do research/writing for a living and having both open in one window would be nice.
Can’t you download those pictures locally? It would be good practice anyway to not rely on Facebook of all places to host your beloved photos indefinitely
It is much less of a PITA than it is often made out to be. I made the transition just recently and had both Plex and Jellyfin running simultaneously for about a month. I used that time to just go through and adjust my progress through my home videos on Jellyfin so I remembered where I left off before shutting down Plex entirely. As long as your directory structure is well organized, it shouldn’t be hard to switch to Jellyfin at all, and if your directories aren’t organized… well it’s a good opportunity to organize them. For large libraries, the *arr stack is great for that.
I did this or something close to it years ago when running windows server. Was a bit of a hassle, but I got things running ok. Now I’m on Linux server with the same machine and it’s not a problem there.
Linux has been better for my server needs generally anyway, but I’m happy to be reminded of yet another reason to stay off windows
When I was a kid and Facebook was new, I remember everyone wanting an account. The way I see it, Facebook just kept those users who wanted it when it was new. Who’s to say that the same won’t be true of TikTok later?
And I see a lot of them driving around too! But the impression that I get from Koreans is that the idea of Tesla and especially Elon Musk really appeals to them. In my anecdotal experience, people idolize Musk here. In my own conception of things, it makes sense given the control that companies like Samsung have over the population here. It’s so natural to be under the rule of companies that when words like “world’s richest man” get thrown around, people can’t help but throw themselves at him
Koreans love foreign brands and consume the most luxury brands per capita in the world. These luxury brands are more important here as status symbols than anywhere else I’ve lived. I’m surprised by this stat because I work in a very wealthy part of Seoul and see many many teslas each day. It’s honestly baffling how many teslas I see. But I’m with you: why not buy local? Why buy a Tesla at all?
Lol go to Korea and see all the other consumer facing stuff. LG shampoo if you want.
