Playing Ghost of Yotei at the moment and absolutely loving it. Tsushima was an all timer for me so I’m happy for more.

If she’s someone who likes to make it look the way she wants, she might get a bit more out of KDE than Cinnamon for example.

Tried dual booting Ubuntu and XP back around 2006, didn’t really see the point because gaming on Windows.
2020 got a Raspberry Pi and set up Retropie which gave me a good intro to Linux. Tried to get away from big tech in 2021 and was dual booting Mint and Windows 10. Ended up spending more time in 10 because gaming.
Got an old laptop from work and it was perfect to throw Mint on because no way it was going to handle gaming. Then I set up a media server, initially with the the Pi and then bought a cheap mini for it - and ran it on Mint. I’m primarily a console gamer now so gaming is far less of a concern for me on PC. Mint everything now.
I could distro hop or at least try something else, and maybe I will at some stage. But I’m too happy with Mint/Cinnamon to bother.

Yeah that’s my bad. You are literally correct. I was meaning more figuratively and going with MP3 as a general term rather than the format specifically.
I guess it’s no different to a CD really. Just a smaller file on a bigger storage medium.
An Evangelion AMV set to I’m Not Okay (I Promise) by My Chemical Romance. It was on YouTube and uploaded by a channel Ahhh123the8ball. But taken down for music reasons. Many years ago.
As far as PS2 games go, it’s very playable by today’s standards. Controls are a bit funky but easy enough to adapt to.

cdzero@lemmy.mlto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•should I apologize to this friendly manager I had an argument with?2·17 days agoIt’s not about being better. It’s different.
You’ve come here asking for advice. Myself and others have given you some. It’s up to you to take what you find useful and disregard what you don’t. None of us know the full situation.
Let us know what you end up doing and how it goes though, I’m interested and I’m sure at least a few others would be as well.
cdzero@lemmy.mlto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•should I apologize to this friendly manager I had an argument with?17·18 days agoA lot of people need to be right all the time, even if it is to their own detriment. Therefore they would see apologising as losing.
Social cohesion is quite important and I believe something that is becoming a little undervalued. Especially in a workplace. While of course if is important to stick to your principles, it’s not that important to be right in a lot of social situations.
Relationships aren’t linear progression. Sometimes you move forward, sometimes you move backwards. Sometimes you can move forward by moving backwards. An apology rarely hurts in the grand scheme of things.
However I would think about what you’re saying. And what I’m about to say carries the lack of context from not knowing any more than what you posted.
You weren’t listening and it was mostly your fault (your words). She didn’t trigger you. And telling her she triggered you will probably not go well. You reacted to her in a way you are now regretting. You need to take responsibility for that and that is likely what you are apologising for.
The conversation about things being fair, save it for later. Put a lot more thought into it.
That was an enjoyable read. Keen to see more. And the website looks great both in terms of design and content.
cdzero@lemmy.mlto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What largest explorable towns/cities from videogames do you remember?2·20 days agoAfter Kabukicho I was pretty confident doing the same in Dotenbori in Osaka. Once I got south of the river I got very lost and the whole thing fell apart. It was hilarious. It probably is the same but my memory definitely wasn’t.
cdzero@lemmy.mlto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What largest explorable towns/cities from videogames do you remember?7·21 days agoIt’s not big in an overall area sense but it’s so dense that it can feel massive. Kamurocho from the Yakuza/Like a Dragon games. Seeing it evolve over 20 years in real time and about 35 years in game time has gotten me quite attached too. Each new game I do a loop to check what has changed and see if old friends are still there.
Bonus with having so much in game time in it is that since it’s essentially just Kabukicho in Tokyo, all that in game exploring translates to the real world pretty well.
Australia had a mass shooting in 1996 and pretty strict gun control came in. Now it’s only really sport shooters (who are a pretty responsible bunch from my experience), rural property owners with a good reason (pest control largely), certain occupations like specific security (cash transport for instance), cops and military that have guns. And criminals.
We still get the odd shooting but they’re pretty rare and to my understanding, almost never done by legal owners.
I’m not sure what things were like back in 1996 but I don’t believe we really have the gun culture so there’s not much opposition to gun control by the majority.
