All these posts about “[Musk|Trump] fanboys learn their hero is a greedy POS exactly like all the people they hate said they were” should really just go in c/leopardsatemyface
Not a software dev, but for me it’s the constant leap from today’s “next best thing” to tomorrow’s. Behind the Bastards did an episode on AI, and his take resonated with me. Particularly his Q&A session with some AI leaders at, I think, CES not long ago. When the new hotness gets popular, an obscene amount of money is paired with the “move fast and break things” attitude in a rush to profit. This often creates massive opportunities for grifters as legislators are mind numbing slow to react to these new technologies. And when regulations are finally passed (or more recently, allowed by the oligarchs), they’re often written to protect the billionaires (read: “job creators”) more than the common customer. Everyone’s bought into the idea that slow and methodical stifles innovation. At least the people funding and regulating these things have.
I mean, it kind of writes itself, but yeah. Sometimes the easy ones are, in fact, the best ones.
Wait, where’s that Xitter screengrab of some BS Ramanswamy just said about what a great job he’s been doing? I just saw it!
It’s really telling that their fear is causing them to spend so much on security and separating themselves from the masses rather than, I don’t know, acknowledging the grievances of the masses and spending a paltry percentage of their wealth to solve some widely recognized societal issues that government can’t or won’t address.
Seriously, the cognitive dissonance on display is mind boggling when so much of the population sees you and your kind as greedy leeches, and your response is, “They’re simply wrong!” as you pump obscene amounts of money towards your security, bunkers, and electing politicians who will protect your widely despised position in the world.
People who voted against Trump: “We know.”
People who voted for Trump: “Hell yeah, we know!”
It breaks large uploads into smaller chunks. If you’re hosting behind a reverse proxy and using cloudflare, there’s I think a 100MB upload limit. Can pose a problem for importing some videos.
Chunking and the ability to rotate an image. I guess those features aren’t sexy.
Of course it’s not on par in English.

She’s peaked?
We are a population of stupid animals.
Strangely, I deleted them and reuploaded. Now they display fine. Might need to play with this a bit more.
Favorite pic so far. Thanks!
Except for that rare cat that loves them. I have two!
This is a criminally underrated tip. Liquor boxes are seriously sturdy, and the size keeps you from overpacking them.
Also, I started with a pi, added a synology (a NAS is a game changer), and then moved almost all services off the synology to a Beelink S12 pro. Recently upgraded the S12 to 32GB of memory, and I have a 2tb ssd upgrade I have to do soon. All of this is over the past 2-years.
Two sites that really helped me get the basics of docker compose were Marius hosting and Dr Frankenstein’s docker guides. Both are focused more on synology, but the docker stuff works anywhere.
ETA: linuxserver.io is pretty handy, too.
Me too. If there’s still time, give your buddy a hug from this internet stranger. We set an appointment for mine for tomorrow. It’s so surreal.
I’ll never wish death on a person. That’s a line I can’t cross and still think of myself as a good person. That said, I have no problem celebrating a terrible person’s death.
