You’re deliberately avoiding the core premise that people thinking it’s democratic means it’s democratic.

That’s a gish gallop, and the core premise that people believing it’s democratic makes it so is incorrect.

Most Americans think that too
There are actually very high barriers to entry in the insurance and health care markets (which in the USA are tightly intertwined).
The health insurance industry doesn’t want there to be fair alternatives because then everyone would buy that instead. This is an oligarchy, not a democracy.
Not actually democratic, thus not socialist.

You’re more likely to die in a heat wave in prison right now.
IDK maybe that’s more reason to fight, just to the death.
It’s questionable if that’s enough, though. FPTP means we’ll vote for people who maybe took small bribes, and it’ll become a slippery slope to a fully for-sale goverment again.

Where’s Mark Cuban when we need him
It’s not like my Conway’s Game of Life creatures can ever escape their petri dish. I’m so zoomed out that I wouldn’t even notice if they were intelligent.
Well yeah we know that!
Why exactly did you write your initial post?

Any employee has more understanding of their own best interests than you or their employer do, and these folks had been choosing to remain with the company up until that moment.
So one can reasonably assume that most people are worse off when they get fired, even given any survey response whatsoever.
Good talk
