Yes I had this thought, however if possible I would like to be fully Linux. The other issue I would expect while this solves the VST problems would be latency with the audio interface.
I haven’t had a lot of time recently to look, but I know FL studio can mostly be set up to work through wine. The problems exist in the plugins/VST’s/ the VST management softwares/ the Audio interface drivers and latency.
I use FL, but yes, it’s less the DAW that is the issue and more so my VST libraries and audio interface.
It isn’t just a single application is the problem, it’s the VST plugins and their respective management softwares, drivers for audio interfaces, and some other such things. I use FL studio and I have seen people get it mostly working in wine, but its all the other stuff that creates an issue.
If you do so, I would be interested in hearing about the experience and any troubleshooting you had to perform to fix problems.
My workflow is in FL studio, however the bigger problem is my VST libraries. I have the entire Arturia V collection as well as many, many more plugins and I am unsure if they would run on Linux, or if they do, how well. This is unfortunately a big problem as my collection of VST’s total into the thousands of dollars. I suppose I could run a windows VM to make everything function, but then I would probably have problems with latency/connectivity on my audio interface when I want to patch any of my hardware in, if drivers are even available for the interface in on Linux (It’s just a scarlett 2i2 I believe).
Gaming was one of my reasons as well initially, but it has gotten a LOT better on Linux in recent times by the look of it so I just have music remaining on my list. I also don’t use CSP but I have many friends who do art and can understand not wanting to move away from it.
The moment I can verify a solution for my music production workflow on Linux, I know that I’m out as well.
Heliboard I believe, installed the google swiping .so, I believe you can set it to ignore saving inputs or forget them after a time. I like the customization options, I can have solarized dark everywhere including my phone.
No doubt, I’m floored.

They announced a series A in which they stated they are implementing paid features through a subscription model and took 15 million dollars from Blockchain Capital.
They say in this statement they won’t “Hyper Financialize” the platform, which is corporate doublespeak for “We are now monetizing this platform”.
The additions to their board are people who come from crypto/NFT companies.
As a result, the clock is now ticking on Bluesky and its destruction is inevitable due to the laws of capitalism.
It’s lack of marketing since it is not a business, and people conflating useful optional features with confusing usage.
Everyone I know moved to bluesky, after which bluesky basically immediately sold out to crypto people. I brought up the idea of “hey, this is why I think mastodon is a lot better, because it’s impossible for it to sell out entirely”, to which one person lost their fucking shit and responded stating that I was “fear mongering”.
This person also said they didn’t care if a business owned all their data and controlled their entire life because “all their data is owned already anyway”.
This same person also said that after the recent US election they “spent the night throwing up until they were dry heaving and crying”.
Why they claim to not care about their life being controlled by corporate entities, but claim to care so hard about their life being controlled by a government that they say they have a physical reaction to it is a subject I haven’t broached because I’m sure they wouldn’t be able to see their hypocrisy if they pointed the James Webb telescope at themselves.
In a nut shell, many people are incredibly stupid and not at all interested in their best interests unless the news tells them which interests they should care about.
You think that’s fucked, I updated and I get this message now that won’t fuck off, stating I am both up to date, and missing updates at the same fucking time. Doesn’t matter how many times I check for updates, nothing new is found, nothing installs.
You can hope they won’t pull your license, but with this shit I’m just hoping they don’t brick my fucking system.
I see. Over a long enough time I do find that these ones harden as well at which point I change them, however that’s usually a month or more instead of a couple weeks. I hope they work out well for you should you buy!
As heads up as well, the little pucks they come as are way too big for my ears, but you don’t want them to be too small either.
These are amorphous like a sort of putty, so I usually tear a puck in half, and then another into quarters, and then mash them together such that I have 75% the size of a puck for each ear. This insures they completely seal my ear, but also cant get stuck or anything.
This also has the benefit of not needing to worry about sizing though!
While this does appear to be a grammatical error, Wiktionary also lists it as a dialectical, nonstandard past participle of run, so it looks like some people use it depending on where they’re from, including myself it seems.
I suppose I select ran as the past participle because in other cases where I use it in past tense, run does not sound correct to me.
For example where I am from, I would say someone “ran” from the police, instead of that someone “had run” from the police, so I default to this version of the word in these cases.
It can probably affect all gaskets, but depending on the type of rubber some might be better or worse. I haven’t played around enough with testing different ones to know for certain though.
The ones I recommended are similar to some other silicone ones, but are a bit softer. As a result I find they seal better in comparison. I had been using silicone ones prior to discovering these and they are definitely my preference.
Rope saws are neat as fuck as well.
Oh neat!
