Which is why I got it, but you can’t unlock the bootloader on mine. I spent hours on this.

The Pixel 2 I got can’t even be bootloader unlocked. Bad choice if you want a custom ROM.
The swipe typing on the fork works very well. I would advise people to no be turned off by the “experimental” tag, as I have used this fork for a year with no issues at all.
Yes, the generic names make it a nightmare to search for things relating to them.
I feel you. After the Reddit events, I just don’t have the enthusiasm to help maintain many communities anymore. It’s hard when you put a lot of work into it and then get treated like shit in response.
Caffeine at any dose gives me anxiety and restlessness. At too high of a dose (which is basically equivalent to a large cup of coffee at home or a normal Starbucks coffee) I get heart palpitations and panic spirals.
I haven’t intentionally had caffeine in five years.
I am not going to debate over semantics with you.
One wonders why you won’t answer.
You’re reading very far into my use of a word. I used it because its meaning is very applicable here. It’s not “empty ideological language.” It means something similar to “patriotic,” though I didn’t use that word because for some reason in the US patriotism is considered to be a good thing.
This user seems to think the US superior to all other countries. The word’s definition certainly seems to apply:
Militant devotion to and glorification of one’s country; fanatical patriotism.
Prejudiced belief in the superiority of one’s own gender, group, or kind.
They’re asking because you’re probably stuck in a media bubble based on the fact that you simply cannot read the opinions of people outside of the US’s sphere of influence.
You’re incorrectly assuming that something has to be incorrect to be chauvinistic.
You gave an opinion that can’t really be called “correct” or “incorrect.” It’s just chauvinistic.
This is very chauvinistic.
At least where I am, they are pushed based on which cell tower you are connected to. My old phone did not even have functional GPS and I still got emergency alerts.
And it’s not even just a few of them. I recently looked at the Wikipedia page for Stephen Harper (former Conservative PM) and he’s been on Ben Shapiro lately, and started ranting about “woke culture.” It’s become pervasive.
I’m really thankful for it, so thank you for pushing back. One of the biggest reasons I chose Lemmy over Kbin was the lack of overall user score. I’m fine with posts and comments having a score — it sort of helps one determine what is and isn’t good content for a community, or what might not be good advice — but summing those up on your user profile only leads to weird score measuring contests and a sort of “number go up” addictive cycle. Thank you also for giving us the ability to hide scores if we don’t want to see them.
Time for Ban 2!
I moderated two subreddits over 1m users, one over 250k users, and a handful over 10k users.
Every. single. one. of my team members has left, except for one on one of the tiny subreddits.
