I just get used Pixel phones and put Lineage OS on them, or Graphene if thats more you vibe. I would love to one day move to some a more open and repairable phone but the US market just does not seem interested.

The wall mount rack is a used ACP Netshelter. I was able to find it on Craigslist a few years ago. The rackmount face plates are custom 3d printed but unfinished as I abandoned the project due to life.

I may, it was a massive work in progress that I never finished because life decided to beat the crap out of me for the last 3 years. I was trying to build a modular system that was 19" and 10" rack compatible and would have storage options as well. In this case its 2x Seagate external drives, and a WD external drive plugged in via USB3 and setup in a CEPH cluster.

House of Suns is a fantastic read. You should also look at his shorts in Diamond Dogs and Turquoise Days.

Yes thats the MS-A1 which is a great little box but not as flexible as the MS-01. It lacks the PCIe slot, and only has 2x 2.5g Ethernet ports.
You probably wont find the MS-01 used since its not like the Lenovo’s with their mass market deployment as office PCs.
As for price, https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256810143174659.html? I was looking at the barebones since the prices on DDR5 and NVME’s are nuts right now. I have spare NVME drives so all I would need is RAM and I can find it cheaper than the resellers who mark it up when they install it for you.

I have 2 of them with older 6 core CPUs and 32gb each. I also added a 10g SFP card in the PCIe slot so they would have a bit more umph.

For 380 each I would not bother, and I would look at the Minisforum MS-01 as it has built in dual 10g SFPs and dual 2.5g RJ45’s plus a PCIe slot.

at ~80 euro’s more you get more CPU, faster ram if you can find it, more storage, and more networking.
cannot find good shit like this in the Southern US… Everything is soft sweet and hardly any actual flavor

Dont care, its where the task bar should go, and I should be able to configure it.

Why does he look like a coke head 24/7 do he and Kushner just dune style still suit with cocaine or something?

I am a little old for a Bo dont ya think?

or pulled pork!

I am always down with some cornbread!

I run teams and Outlook using versions in electron wrappers. For one drive I have to use the web interface to get to the shared storage because our folks don’t know how to set it up and I don’t care enough to figure it out for them.
I have one application that I really need to use that I still can’t get working in Linux but I’m still trying.

I don’t use them, the 96% K4v2 and v3 are what I prefer for the compact but nearly full sized.
The k17 pro is ok but I don’t enjoy the extra size. The smallest keyboards I can use are 60% or 10 keyless since I use function keys and num pads all to often.
If I was a writer and not do doing math/engineering related things I would skip the extra keys.

Home Keychron K4v2: Custom built (franken switch) Kailh Silent Box Browns. Bottom housing, and Springs are from Kailh Box Royals. Top housing, stem, and tactile hammer from the Box Browns.

Work Keycron K4v3: currently have the stock Keychron Banana switch and they are ok. I like the spring weight but im not in love with the rest of the switch. My board also came with 5 bad switches so thats not a great selling point.
Travel Keychron K17 Pro: Gateron LP Blues, fewer options so these are the ones I like to annoy people with on the train or airplane.
I have a bunch of other keyboards with different switches ranging from Outemu silent white, purples, to Cherry brown, and silvers.
I cant even remember all the switches I have, and I have given away so many to friends…

No its not, because going up in value means its inflating because the base currency you are pegging its value to is also inflating.

If there is complete societal collapse, then gold is going to be worth nothing, because you cant eat it. Bullets on the other hand you can use to take peoples food, or hunt for your own. So invest in bullets!
Now if you just expect financial collapse but not total societal then sure gold, silver, bonds are probably fine if you want “safe” stable ways to hold your investments.
In most cases, its just fear-mongering and gold has no more actual value than paper currency since they both derive their value from sentiment or perceived value. So if you show up at my house and offer me a small gold bar, you value at $10,000, and I value it at a potato, then your $10,000 is actually only worth a potato.

I would get everyone to sign the Paris agreement and give it real teeth for non compliance.
I don’t allow unsupervised watching of YouTube and all other platforms are forbidden.
Their computers are in a public space where I can see what they are doing and watching.
I also do not allow screens in their bedrooms the occasional exception being for homework not only if they can’t get it done in a common room.
