Which cannot be said about Todd Howard.
Which cannot be said about Todd Howard.
True, but majority of non-entirely-indie devs do exactly what I said. Sadly some indie too.
I’ve played many different RPGs during my life, but Disco really is like nothing I’ve played before. Maybe, just maybe a little like Planescape Torment, but other than that? Nothing comes to mind. Which is unbelievable in this age, where most developers play it safe with basically sequels of successful games and new ones you barely can tell apart…
I got hooked, but I was like “what if I chose this option now?” all the time. So I started completely different character right after I finished. Got couple hours in, but… 1) it’s too fresh experience and I should probably give it a bit more time and 2) I wanted the new character to be this fascist, racist, egoist, alcohol and drug abuser, but damn. It’s so tough to play against some basic human principles.
Disco Elysium
I know it did not release this yer, but I got to it now, so it is GOTY for me.
I always thought it was KKK masked propaganda… /s
I’m daily driving it for ~3 years and I only started yast once to see why everyone praises it so much and second time when I actually needed something (don’t even know if I suceeded or failed).
Snapper on the other hand… That is a bit I praise the most! I still don’t get it why it’s not default for more distros…
Well, I have AMD too and I haven’t encounter either of them… so far. Hope it stays that way.
I too can easily recommend Tumbleweed. Very nice distro on its own.
Well, yes, but also no. There are other similarly strucuted SW that can survive even though they’re open sourced. Things like Standard Notes, Notesnook, Stingle photos, etc. I believe most people would go hassle free route if the accompanying “cloud service” were good enough. And FOSS sticker is a good bonus on top. Just my 2 cents.
I’ve tried both and did not like either. Logseq would be probably ok if it didn’t sort every note as a bullet list.
Zettlr was veeery slow for me.
I’m kind of hesitant with it since it’s not FOSS. To be honest I never really understood why anyone makes free (no $$) software but not open source it. I might give it a try though.
I can confirm both these. Although Qownnotes is a bit of mess in UI, it does its job well. I wanted something simple that will just load bunch of locally saved md files and this is the best I could find so far.
Wait, there’s something more to watch porn than the plot?
Well, it might be totally stupid advice, but can’t plain simple VLC fit in?
Max Payne was so amazing. I don’t knwo why, but I totally loved the atmosphere. Night, cold, desperation, drug lords, bullet time, comic strips, music, fast gunplay, it all made such a wholesome package. (The only part I really disliked was the dream passage where you had tu run through darkness on thin red lines, that was PITA.)
I fear remake will lose some aspects that made Max Payne what it was. Replace comics with cut scenes and it would not be the same game. Replace dark, grim, shadowy graphics with modern flashy ray traced lightning awesomeness and it surely would look good, but it wouldn’t be the Max. Replace fast paced shooting tempo with more cover based or just differently paced approach and yet again, it wouldn’t be the same game. Etc.
It’s ugly AF and totally breaks the concept. At least that’s what I think about it.
Does it really have plexi/glass side/top? Why on Earth?
Well, it’s first person shooter where shooting is pretty bad (unless you invest a lot of skill points in it). Melee is okayish, very simple, basically button mashing. Luckily combat is just a minor part of the game. Dialogues, story, atmosphere, all this very much compensates for the lack of good gunplay.
Sixteen times the
detailhard work!
