The problem is Valve is still a business where their income comes from providing products and services. The rest are no longer business in that sense anymore and are really just scams that make their money from convincing investors on the Perception that they have a sure fire way to milk their customer for even more money in the future to convince new investors to invest to pump up the stock to make the most money for the old investors or more so the ones with stock options.

The DoD thinks its a dumb idea to have a draft as the quality of the fighting force is degraded and other Incentives work better. The problem is facts and good reasoning are not something that the current administration is known for. Half want a Holy war to bring about Armageddon. Yeah the amount of heat a data center vs a satellite your going to super heat the space in that orbit over time. It they are geostationary then its even harder as the the data center doesn’t move away from the heat.

It boils down to one thing let’s say they find us or we find them. They set out on a trip to us traveling at near C speed. By the time they reach us we may not be around anymore as thousands of years have passed. The universe is so vast not only do catch them in space but also in time. The lack of contact is just a series of near misses.
