I’ve never thought of them as crime novels, except Caves of Steel (which was explicitly written to prove that sci-fi is not a genre), but I’ve already read half of the top 10. Guess I’ll add the other half to my to read list.

No, someone took an existing painting and modified it with copy/paste to show two middle fingers. Which is also ironic, given the message they’re trying to send.
The only thing I could find is that Yes Madam is a real company and that the sender is indeed the HR head of that company. So if it’s fake, someone kept the header and signature of a real email. Or maybe a real email sent on April 1st? I have a hard time believing that this is real (not that a company wouldn’t do this, but the fact that they would admit to it so blatantly like it’s not a bad thing).
Not that impressive on carpet
If your phone is connected to the cell network, then you can be tracked.
My cars are not modern enough for that, but I always carry a surveillance device in my pocket to make up for it.
Speedrunning is not just about beating the world record. A lot of people speedrun games for their own enjoyment and only competing against their own PBs. I’ve spent time getting sub 10m in Getting Over It and never considered going for the WR. And there’s a whole community doing the same, setting their own goals.
TAS runs are an academic exercise. A person doing pixel perfect moves in fractions of a second several times in a row is peak gaming.
Romania too, but definitely better than a hamburger. It’s more like a sausage.
One guy’s defense was “I thought she was dead”.
I’ve always done that. If it’s not a contact, I let it go to voicemail. If it was actually important, they leave a message.
That’s a parallel worlds story. There are many movies and shows about travel through parallel worlds. Sliders is the first that comes to mind.
They said “the ones I have”, as in multiple. So I was wondering if all of them connect to everything, or each connect to some. That’s because I went on the 8bitdo website and I looked at several categories. The Xbox ones listed only various Xbox models under connectivity, the Bluetooth ones only listed Switch, the 2.4G and wired ones only listed Windows and Android.
The ones I have work on switch, Xbox, pc, android, iOS, etc.
Is there a single controller that I can use on switch, Xbox and pc?
In my country unlimited fiber was $6/mo. Imagine the shock when I moved to the US (also in Mountain View initially). Eventually I got AT&T fiber for “just” $40/month, but now I moved to an area outside their coverage and it’s back to Comcast :(
Yeah, they’re more like dirigibles than airplanes. But same as airplanes, people have had a hard time believing that something made of metal can float.
Why is Hitler in the background?
