I see thanks, tbh my car is pretty crappy but if the uphill is too steep I will back up a little without handbrake and the guy behind me wont be happy :D
I’m curious, how do u do it? I mean you need a foot on gas and one on the clutch to start, how do you keep your car still without handbrake (other than just being quick after moving away from the brake)?
mattreb@feddit.itto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•How do you deal with the inexorable march of time?3·7 months agoMakes me think about what human life is supposed to look like.
I also spent most of my energy working, but I do get some time to occasionally do things I like but those also take some energy. If I imagine my perfect life I probably wouldn’t have the energy to live it. But still, I can’t help thinking I should do much more and I feel bad…
mattreb@feddit.itto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Sugar vs baking soda to neutralize acid in canned tomatoes?5·8 months agoyeah, baking soda works but you have to be careful with the amount you put in them or they’ll taste very bland after…
no I can confirm that it work without gapps on Lineage… probably something else…
Exactly, even when applied correctly, many projects will just not work with scrum. Managers that sponsor ONE approach have already failed…

mattreb@feddit.itto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•If hot air rises, why is it colder at the top of a mountain?1·1 year agoYeah “dissipate away” is probably a bit misleading but I meant that the heat source is mainly the surface since it’s difficult to heat the thin outer layers directly, and from there heat moves up thorough ir radiation or adiabatic expansion. But it’s not like mountains are cooled down by adiabatic expansion, since the air wouldn’t move up without a temperature gradient, which means that it cannot get colder that the mountains already are. So I would think they are simply farther away form surface heat radiation and have thinner air that don’t assorb heat…
mattreb@feddit.itto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•If hot air rises, why is it colder at the top of a mountain?2·1 year agoSorry i didn’t meant to be misleading, just to discuss! However after checking on Wikipedia https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lapse_rate I omitted that lower pressure air at high altitude absorb/emit less heat, but what I wrote is not wrong, just incomplete…
mattreb@feddit.itto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•If hot air rises, why is it colder at the top of a mountain?710·1 year agoWithout checking, I would say that it’s because the heat dissipate away from the planet and the hot air will eventually cool down while rising? My understanding is that it’s hot near sea level because it’s where the heat from the sun gets reflected and radiated from the earth surface, correct me if I’m wrong…
Exactly, making everyone to switch over to something else is impossible…l’ll uninstall it as soon as they roll this out

Tv and movies don’t look choppy because the shutter speed of the camera smooth out the movement with motion blur. Motion blur in games is instead just simulated and not as effective.
Also as someone else have said a game is interactive and input latency can be as high as 3 frames, which at 30fps would be 1/10s and can be perceived…
mattreb@feddit.itto Games@lemmy.world•Open source community figures out problems with performance in StarfieldEnglish1·2 years agoI’ll give a different perspective on what you said: dx12 basically moved half of the complexity that would normally be managed by a driver, to the game / engine dev, which already have too much stuff to do: making the game. The idea is that “the game dev knows best how to optimize for its specific usage” but in reality the game dev have no time to deal with hardware complexity and this is the result.
Agree, but it’s usually easier to find a new job with better working conditions than to change them on your current workplace unfortunately…
mattreb@feddit.itto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Is this it? Is there anything more to life, am I missing something?6·2 years agoAgree… The fact that many people here think that if you’re not happy woking, eating, sleeping then you’re probably ill, it kinda scares me tbh
tbh I’m surprised that you even got upvotes, didn’t went that well for me with a similar answer on another post…
