I love my Pinecil V2. It was cheaper than my 40W entry level Weller station and heats up way faster. I run it off my Anker USB power supply and also my Anker USB power bank. The power bank only outputs 30 or 40 watts though so I might upgrade that in the future. High wattage power banks are expensive though :/

These companies ran these services for years without any of this crap.

This one in particular is one of the later 50s models that does direct subtraction. The earlier ones don’t have the updated mechanism and you have to clear the unit to switch between subtraction and addition which makes them less useful for this.

Nowadays? You just install it. It’s all plug and play. Mint is great for starters.

Do you know of any good alternatives for role playing? I used it a while back to flesh out some NPCs and location for a DnD game I was planning on running but if it’s gotten noticeably worse I’d like to try something else.
