Showerthoughts@lemmy.world•One of the next indicators of humanity's impending extinction will be a mass bird die-off, simply due to all the nonstop microplastics that'll clog up their lungs
1·27 days agoUhm that doesnt work like that
Microplastics are mostly in water, and a huge issue there. They become small enough to get into cells and cause constant inflammation and cancer. But they are not aerosols.
Maybe very small plastic particles could get into air, but that usually happens when something burns. The most nasty microplastics occur when burning things.

Showerthoughts@lemmy.world•Maybe the RAM shortage will make software less bloated?
8·27 days agoYes. 16GB is the bare minimum for regular usage on Windows. On Linux, it is a minimum for “regular to advanced” usage (i.e. more than 5 more complex programs open, Flatpak, Electron apps)

1·27 days agoThe impact is that your software runs even worse on existing hardware. Might not be a big impact, but an impact

Its actually pretty accurate.
Prefrontal cortex just chillin, the rest completely escalating
Thanks, stole it from some stock site, the overlay is barely visible

You can patch the kernel live? I know that Ubuntu does that
