spaduf@slrpnk.netto Technology@lemmy.world•Decentralized Social Media Is the Only Alternative to the Tech OligarchyEnglish2·6 months agoI agree but let’s be honest. That may be how it worked in revolutionary France but that wasn’t how it worked in the US in the 20th century. The “3rd Places” that most people were involved in were union halls, civic organizations, and social societies. We’ve largely forgotten that history, but it’s not something we can get back without organizing online first.

spaduf@slrpnk.netto Technology@lemmy.world•Apple refuses to call Apple Intelligence 'AI'English122·1 year agoI mean the biggest innovation here isn’t the “AI” (partially “on-device” or otherwise). It’s exposing the apps action hooks to the model.
spaduf@slrpnk.netto Technology@lemmy.world•Apple refuses to call Apple Intelligence 'AI'English291·1 year agoThis isn’t actually innovative it is just not OpenAIs business model. This recent trend is honestly a much smaller blip than most people recognize.

spaduf@slrpnk.netOPto World News@lemmy.world•How an Israeli raid freed 4 hostages and killed scores of Palestinians in GazaEnglish384·1 year agoLiterally hundreds of civilians killed to rescue 4 hostages. I don’t know what happened but I can guarantee we will be hearing more about it.
Not a huge fan of the title but this is breaking news and I think the AP can be trusted to at least get the basics right.
Symfonium is pretty good as a one time purchase.
