In societies with high degrees of scarcity and high infant mortality, humans have tended to have a lot of babies. This is true now, and it was true historically. On the flipside, in societies with high development indexes, humans tend to not have many kids. From Japan to Sweden to Cuba, you see that fertility rates inversely correlate with human development. These are just observable facts.

And you are wrong that wealth inequality causes the drop in birth rates. The birth rate was higher in the Dickensian times of Britain compared to now. If anything, it is wealth equality, universal positive rights, and women’s liberation that tend to make people have fewer kids.

A ecosocialist world is a sustainable one. An ecofascist world is just a death spiral.

• Populations are estimated at 2.1 million (all of Gaza, to be transferred into Rafah) vs 1.6 million respectively.
• That gives us densities of 32k people/sqkm in Rafah, 27k people/sqkm in Manhattan.

So basically, more people by square kilometer than Manhattan but close to zero infrastructure. Just imagine if all the infrastructure in Manhattan suddenly disappeared, but the people were stuck there and could not go anywhere. While being bombed. And blockaded.

Rafah is 64 square kilometers; that’s the size of San Marino (61 sq km).

These are contradictory statements, it makes no sense. When you say that “Ukraine can do whatever they need to do [in the face of] an illegal invasion and genocidal statements and actions” YOU are also saying that they can use deadly force. YOU are advocating violence on behalf of Ukraine. But if we flip the bit from Ukraine to Palestine suddenly it breaks the TOS?

OK, got it. So, according to you and the rules of the community, Ukraine is supposed to defend itself with strongly worded letters to the editor. Destroying an army is not an extermination program either. It’s called war. Members of that group can choose to leave that group. It’s called deserting. Under international law, the UN charter, Palestinians fighting against the IDF, using armed violence against the occupation is a legitimate war. Are you denying the right of Palestinians to fight a war for their freedom?

The IDF, being an occupying army, under international law is absolutely a legitimate target for violent armed Palestinian resistance. Legitimate target of violent armed resistance. It’s the law.
