That’s the only reason why the Government chooses Ubuntu. Even in School IT Classes, they use Ubuntu. Children are trained in OpenOffice, GIMP etc in Government Schools, but MS Office in Private Schools.

I work in the health sector. All PCs in my hospital (Quite a big one, 90K+ Admissions last year) are Dell Pre Built with a dual core Pentium and 4GB RAM, all running Ubuntu. Everything from Discharge Summaries to Medical Advices are made using Google Chrome in the Hospital Management System.
India is the most populous country in the world. Anything happening there significantly alters world statistics. Wow Redditors have made it to Lemmy.
I never found it difficult to debloat windows. I have helped people via voice calls, it’s that simple. It’s as simple as copying a Terminal Script, Running it, Checking some boxes, then using Winget to uninstall Microsoft bloatware. Installing a regular distro is easy, I have installed Zorin and Linux Mint in many PCs. But some devices just don’t work. For example, a fairly popular fan controller from Corsair, and I have an AX1650, It didn’t work despite trying many distros, after spending hours on forums, I finally got it to work, but it only connects to 2.4Ghz, another example is Blender, Optix rendering works only with Ubuntu with my card. All these things just worked out for me without any hassle in Windows. Your experience says Linux is better. My experience says Windows is better. Both are subjective opinions and not absolute. Sticking to the original point, what works for you is good for you. And for some people, copying a code and checking some boxes is easier than spending hours in forums to get a WiFi Adapter to work (Speaking from my own experience). Doesn’t mean I lack knowledge in Windows.
Proves your lack of knowledge in Windows. You can literally do all Debloat in a single go with Chris Titus’ Windows Debloat Tools, which explains everything clearly. Or you can just “winget list all” then “winget uninstall whatever the hell you want”. I have said this many times, I have been building PCs for over 20 years now. Recently I installed Linux Mint, Zorin OS and I couldn’t get my onboard WiFi 6 Adapter to work properly, it never detects a WiFi 5Ghz network. Unfortunately I have to use an NVIDIA Card for my blender render, and I’m not wasting anyone’s time about what a mess it is. Even with my 6750 XT it was a mess. Now the counter statement will be “It’s the manufacturers fault for not providing proper drivers”. Well as an end consumer, I don’t have time to blame Corporates, I just need to get my work done.
Could you elaborate on what makes a “perfect” OS?
Ahh yes. Typical Windows bad, linux good meme. When questioned why linux is better, the answer will be beating around the bush sort of it’s worth the months of tweaking to get the WiFi adapter to work. And it’s quite embarrassing to see all these guys who post abominations like this without knowing anything about debloating Windows and stripping the installation to make a perfect install without Microsoft bullshit. If Linux works for you, Good for you. If Windows works for you, Good for you. Get over it. This is cringe at this point.
You acknowledge you can’t get your foreskin back. Which is exactly the point here, you didn’t have a choice, and still don’t. Circumcision has medically defined indications, it shouldn’t be done routinely in the name of anything other than that.
“Never Crashes”, “Runs like Lightning on new machines” Am I doing this wrong? I tried Ubuntu, Zorin OS, Linux Mint- I get crashes and errors which doesn’t explain what the error is, instead shows some code lines. Runs like Lightning on new machines- In my 13600K build, Windows 11 feels noticeably faster, and I’m able to use all my onboard stuff like Optical Audio Out, WiFI 6 connects to 5GHz properly, unlike Linuxmint. I think I lack the technical expertise to run linux. I have been building PCs for like 20 years now.
Try playing Forza without AA. Ray Tracing tanks your performance, but it gives great visual Enhancements, once you experience it, there’s no going back.
The Apple Music App is just a web browser in disguise. It’s bug-ridden too. Although Lossless Audio works fine.
You can. Just make the installation USB using Rufus. Rufus allows to configure the Windows 11 iso to override minimum requirements. Almost all Windows 10 drivers work with Windows 11 too. I’m running Windows 11 on an ancient 1st Gen i7 Laptop with 6GB Memory and an NVIDIA GT 425M. Works better than Windows 10.
Is there an alternative RCS App?
Installed Linux Mint. My Bluetooth works. WiFi, Optical Audio Out, My Corsair Fan controller and many other things don’t work. I can’t find certain render options in Blender also. How to fix all these? Have been trying driver and software updates for hours now. I think I would have been better off using Windows with Chris Titus’ debloat tools. Everything worked, and Edge, OneDrive, Cortana etc. could be uninstalled in one go too.
You are a scientist who claims Fahrenheit is “Objectively” better than Celsius because you can “feel” the difference?
