You okay? I’m talking about behavior, and you’re making it about people’s abilities. If you want people to engage in critical analysis, don’t start by saying they’re unable to do it.

Fox news calling the US an empire is not new. How old do you all think the moniker “Empire State” is? It’s wild how it’s in our language but we just don’t think about it.
Could someone explain the joke to me? I’m not very smart.

I’m sure if you keep calling those who do as LARPers, it will surely encourage such dialogue.
If attacking civilians is the mark of psychopathology then the US does a good job of arming such nations. What the Houthis are doing is not happening in a vacuum. They have a history of resisting regimes propped up by the US. Does that make them saints? No. But we’re not any better.
And we still have nuclear Armageddon to worry about, it just got buried under the pile of things to worry about.
Renewables won’t stop the oil companies from selling their product. But I’m optimistic for different reasons; ol Zuck is making sure he’s the tastiest billionaire on the menu with his wagyu diet.
Don’t worry, we’re banning abortion so you don’t have to be selfish to have kids.

Fantastic read, shared at work and now following on mastodon. Also had this thought in regards to my own work:
… I find it reflects a similar problem we’re having with our code base: “simple is not always easy”. This article points out that Generative AI does what is easy/cheap, when what we really need is simplicity (or simplified complexity)
There’s probably another article to write about this, I would title it: “Generative AI won’t solve your Cynefin domain problem”
And now we accelerate the process with generative AI, resampling data into “new” content for profit. But I can’t shake the feeling this will be an undoing, like it somehow devalues the collated data becauce it becomes so abundant (and synthetic).
For most eras, how hard it was to make a good sandwich. And I’m not just talking about the past.
Guy is probably getting scared of his board members and is wanting to secure himself from being outed. There’s a reason why we are now hearing about his drug problem, and those stories are likely coming from his board members.
The difference here is the Palestinians don’t have passports, they can’t return. Even our war plans with Canada don’t include genocide, this plan does (because there is no opportunity to return).
If dust is the problem then you start at the top and work your way down. Ie Clean ceiling fans, Dust, then wipe surfaces then vacuum.
