  • Here is some context. This person is complaining about a private organization choosing to contract out a performance to a celebrity who choose a theme to highlight black people or to tell a black story.

Here is statistical context usa is 14% black. The NFL is approximately 70% black. White people are around 60% of the US population. Generally speaking sports are merit based. Generally speaking all Pop culture things are influenced, inspired, and sometimes down right stolen from black cultures.

Small article quote "only 11% had a creator of color and 25% had a female creator. White men made up 77.3% of all show creators, and only 14.8% of their shows featured underrepresented stories.

White men also accounted for 46.3% of all TV deal recipients last year.

Additionally, just 14.3% of lead actors had a known disability and there were no female creators who were Latina, Native or Middle Eastern and North African and zero Native or Middle Eastern and North African female leads or co-leads in the included streaming series." https://www.thewrap.com/ucla-hollywood-diversity-report-2024-streaming-series-white-leads/

Essentially there needs to be a strong reversal for a LONG Time for any program to be anywhere controversial. Highlighting untold and often ignored stories is good.

  • Every time a capitalist system is implemented the oligarchy grows and seizes power and some corrupt oligarchs usurp the power of the people. What does that say about capitalism? I think your generalized question is terribly bad faithed when every can point out the US system and straight capitalism is a failure also. Rather then generalized ideas and theory we look at all the systems and see what does work and how we can keep the power in the hands of people

I think the issue is corruption, power, and control. To have a capitalist society you must allow businesses do what they want or they will seize power. In a communist society power is centralized when it is focused on the state as a communistic in which power and control when questioned or control loosened gets cracked down.

Democratic Republicans are great but there is a few problems when they move so slow. One, what if the charter is never fixed when we add more rights. We just tack it on as precedent and never amend the charter.

Second,if the population is growing is it still representing people properly. I think having a representative for every 1 million people is to huge. And the fact we have disparities as large as 1 to million but then some have as low as 1 in 250k. Is unequal.

Third. I don’t think as long as businesses hold power over an individuals life businesses should have political power. They hold to much currently. Also the fact through a business they can unlimitedly donate money but i as an individual can only spend $2,500(somewhere around there is the campaign cap)on a candidate is insane power wise.

Fourth a mixed economic/ business system would be wonderful a more planned economy by what citizens need would be nice. Also economy and business shouldn’t be running the country. The individual people should.

Fifth States are stupid unless they can leave. The lines/borders are arbitrarily stupid and the fact the power federal is based on the lines fucks us up. If so chooses states should be able to break apart and make local states of the people so it is easier to have democratic control over your local area. Yes this means almost every state would become major cities and then the rural areas. Unless they want to partner with a city.

  • Yes. As a dude I recognize that a woman going on a date with a random person is and feels dangerous to most women. I am more than happy to go on a group date or hang out with friends she feels comfortable with for first bit of getting to know a person for like a month to first couple dates. Then once we are looking to know each other closer we can have more private dates. That being said I shouldn’t be expected to pay for anyone’s experience but my own in these dates or hangouts. Maybe my dates but even still definitely not the friends.

  • Not like either side is helping us. Kamala, Democrats, and Joe biden ran the last 4 years quietly and campaigned on no change. They lost the election by not convincing 250k voters in 4 states to not vote for them.

Joe biden pardoning his son is his legacy. Joe said he would be a one term president then tried to run for a second term ruining a primary. Democrats chose Kamala harris and she accepted. This country was founded on old people letting go of power and stepping aside and down. If George Washington wanted to he could have been a king. The old dems are grasping at power and control rather than trusting a populist candidate.

Joe Biden could be abusing his power and fighting for change from the bully pulpit to affect Americans and make an outcry but instead went back in his word twice and pardoned his son abusing his power for selfish gain.

Kamala instead of campaigning to fight hatred and cause change went with joy and changing nothing . She even capituatated to right wing talking points moving Democrats to the right. Even though policy wise leftist policy is good and ppopular policy.

Lastly the democrats ran a Hilary Clinton style campaign being a nerd with stats and defended institutions. Obama won because change Biden won because change.

  • Hmm. Being interested in what is going on in your friends or loved ones life is a way of caring about a person. Do you like to share any details about your life at all with friends or family? What connects you to these people? Or is it you just don’t care about these parts of others lives?

I wouldn’t call it dishonest it would call it caring for another human being doing things you don’t care for for another person builds closeness, familiarity, and tightens bonds. Knowing or listening to details of other people’s lifes just deepens lore and fills out things that are happening in someone’s life.

You are probably a bit autistic. As you see the world a bit as black and white and don’t understand why you do a thing you dont like. That or you don’t actually care about these other people and you are narcissistic and only using these people. The world is gray.

  • The thing is you live in what is called the imperial core if you are a western nation citizen and especially if you are an American citizen. You get what you want for dirt cheap prices(even if you think it is expensive). Turns out many things you own or get is at the expense of other people who still live in dirt houses or just don’t know where their next meal will come from or just in general an exploited people who isn’t getting a sustainable compensation for their work. You get chocolate, an electric car, or diamonds at dirt cheap prices from the labor of people who don’t even know what chocolate tastes like. You get chocolate because you enjoy chocolate. Chocolate is cheap because you demand it to be so you can have a little treat. You winge at learning about something while eating chocolate. We are sitting comfortable eating chocolate while you cry about learning about inequalities. You are asked to think about inequality about your little treat. It isn’t about chocolate at all. Just take some time to consider your little treat is making someone millions while the person’s hands who made it is hungry and will die at 40 because of the conditions they live in.

No we don’t expect you to completely stop eating chocolate. No we don’t expect you to change the world. We ask you to just think about other people for a moment while you take a break. I know it is hard since most people are being exploited in a different way here in the west and we have our own lives but at least we have so much food here that we won’t go hungry with programs to help funded by how rich we are. While people who made our little treat dedicate some farm land for our tasty morsel when they are hungry themselves. Never to even know that there hands create a delicious thing we can buy for less than 20 minutes of our labor in America
