Is there any background to their strike?
Yinz is definitely a Scots thing
Yep. It’s very cool, but takes a little getting used to at first!
Nah, I’ve used my parents’ induction hob and it’s ridiculously fast to boil liquids. A half pint of milk was boiling over in 20s. Gas stoves can’t compete.
Best in Scotland and the Lake District
I think you’re underselling Darktable somewhat. Being able to use drawn and parametric masks for basically all the tools, and the granularity at which you can adjust the variables across the entire image makes it incredibly powerful for non-destructive editing of photos. There are also numerous filters and tools which can be used artistically.
But yes, for “photo-shopping” as opposed to photo editing you probably will want GIMP as well.
Nothing too surprising, but nice nonetheless. Cool
What kind of possibilities?
Mildly?
I’m going to assume they’re not British…
Very unlikely. Keith is pandering to the right on this issue.
If you have a bit of time and are keen to improve then I can recommend watching Jorbs (YouTube or Twitch). He plays StS a lot and explains his decision making process. He’s also a good person.
I agree there; I find it frustrating when people who know that public transport is the better option in the long run never use it when it’s inconvenient yet also complain that it doesn’t get better.
It will get better if we all use it. We all need to take that step though.
You’re also having to place that confidence in every other person you’re sharing the road with, as well as their dealers and mechanics.
I know most people do have some options, so I should have specified that mine are particularly good. Cheap, fast, comfy, and easy.
I’m going to repeat Ursula K Le Guin and Margaret Atwood because it’s hard to overstate how much of everything is in their works. Iain (M) Banks I’ll also echo, but will add China Miéville because there aren’t enough anarchists in this thread.
I appreciate you naming more than one female author!
Reynolds sometimes lacks a touch on the human side of his work. That being said, I’ve not read much of his more recent novels so he might have matured since finishing his 10 year contract.
I remember reading an interview of his where he said he wrote his contemporary fiction in order to support his science fiction writing. Whilst they’re still good novels, his regular works didn’t have as much of his soul as his SF.
Strange! I just wouldn’t work when I first tried, but I VPN’d from USA and it worked. Maybe something else happened the first time and I’m misattributing the success.
