I tried for a while to use two 16:9 vertically. Like you say, vertical makes a lot of sense and it works great. But web devs seem universally to assume that if it’s a tall narrow screen, to show the mobile version.

It’s going to hit GM and Ford who are set up to build cars in Canada and USA. The cars they make in US rely on a global supply chain. It’s going to fuck every carmaker in the US market. Hyundais and Chevys are going to go up in price 30% overnight with the metal tariffs on top of all that.

I think what started the rant was that back at that time, if you scrolled one page back in a chat, it would display a graphic representing a chat while it loaded the chat. And the fucking software was sitting there using a GB of ram and couldn’t keep 5 min of conversation cached. Just inexcusably bad.

I don’t know who at Microsoft had such a hard-on for electron back then, but it seems to have spread and it’s still nowhere close to the good old windows GUI for resource usage.

You have a firewall. It’s in your router, and it is what makes it so that you have to VPN into the server. Otherwise the server would be accessible. NAT is, effectively, a firewall.

Overall, it’s reporting 20% CPU usage. But all P-cores are pinned at 100%. E-cores idle. Of course I’m not CPU bound, I don’t need a better laptop, don’t be silly! And that’s just a Teams call. Fuck teams.

This is good advice, but I think Roblox is a game marketplace/platform, which makes that more difficult. It’s a harder sell to explore the social features as a family than a game.

I’ve got pets and just having the hair off the floors on a regular basis without having to spend 20 min a day hauling a vacuum around strikes me as being a nice labor savings. But I haven’t sprung for one yet.
